Europcar Albufeira Sheraton Pine Cliffs in Albufeira

I rented a bicycle for 12 days in September to ride from Faro to Porto. The online sent price of EUR63 was great and it was supposed to be a city bike with 24 gears. However, the price doubled when I added 2 days later. Europcar obviously has fluctuating daily prices because shortly afterwards I got another price that was slightly higher. When I returned the bike the price was still EUR100, which is quite an attractive price for 14 days bike rental. When I came to pick up the bike, they only proposed me a mountain bike without lights, mudguards and bell. It only had 16 gears and was in a terrible condition. When I asked for the city bike, they told me they had nothing else to offer. The big tires of this bike were worn and cracked. I had to repair the tubes four times and replaced finally the rear tube. The brakes were at their limit, which was particularly noticeable on the downhill rides that are common in Portugal. The bike would certainly not be approved for road use in Germany and Austria, as well as in many other European countries. Back home I received the final invoice which mentioned an item "DLF" which stated 15EUR. When I asked, I was told that 15EUR had been added later for a missing end piece on the handlebars of the bike. It had already been missing and the replacement would have cost 0.10 - 0.20EUR. In summary, I can say that the confusing pricing, the subsequent billing of defects, the poor condition of the rental property and the non-compliance with the vehicle offered have convinced me that I will not enter into a rental relationship again in the future. There was only one positive aspect, the customer service, which was always friendly and courteous. I welcome the fact that Europcar Portugal rents bicycles, but the bicycles rented online should at least match the descriptions and agreements and be issued in a well-maintained and roadworthy condition. Anything less will lead to customer disappointment and a bad reputation.

The staff onsite at Pine Cliffs made the experience great, they were very helpful. The car itself had lots of cosmetic damage to its exterior, some quite bad which in my view should have been repaired before issuing to a new customer(wing mirror housing was out of place causing it to whistle at over 40km/hr, very deep scratches to driver side and the passenger door had a crumple at the bottom front, indicating an impact). Also, on the second day whilst 5 or 6 miles into our journey the vehicle engine management warning light lit up and mentioned a problem with the start stop system. We felt we needed to take it back to the rental office to be checked so turned back. The member of staff said it was a common problem with the Fiat 500 and that the car would continue to work absolutely fine, he also offered us a replacement car but we declined as we were reassured the car would be ok, and as it turned out despite the warning light remaining on we had no actual issues with it.

It was quite difficult to find the office in this huge resort but drop off was fast, about 5 minutes, agent quickly checked the car and asked me to sign the paperwork, that's it

Great little branch inside the Pine Cliffs. Went in on a whim ready to rent a car immediately and they had a lovely mercedes at a good price for us which we could easily drop off at Faro airport in a few days. Friendly staff and very easy pick up at this small branch!

We can't say enough about the professionalism and courtesy of Rui the manager of Eurocar at this location. He helped us painlessly extend our car rental and changed the location drop off. While we were there we also rented bicycles from Eurocar and had a very nice time riding to Villamoura Beach. Rui was efficient, courteous, and knowledgeable. This is a great location to get things done quick and easy if you're running from Eurocar.
