Our car rented in Lisbon had a flat tyre in Averio. We went to the shop to ask for assistance. The staff was unhelpful and refused to call Europcar assistance hotline for us despite our repeated requests. It took us 3 hours to settle the case and got a taxi to Porto to get another car.
The car given hybrid broke down shortly after rental. Had to wait 3 hours for a tow truck. Not a good experience

The warm, qualified and professional service from Marcia, the staff person who helped me, was exceptional. Renting the car on my birthday after my car broke down, I arrived at Europcar Aveiro under deep stress. Marcia's friendliness, competence and beautiful smile immediately relaxed my nervous system, providing a very uplifting experience in the car rental transaction. For my holidays I rented a car in Aveiro for 8 days and dropped it later in Lisbon Gare do Oriente. I took the premium package, since the cost was still very reasonable and I did not want any hassle. Eventually this was not really necessary but I still would do so. The car was very clean and in a perfect condition. Handover at pick up and drop off was simple and friendly. Overall a very positive experience.
It went smooth, the lady at the rental office was nice and explained everything calmly. The car was in a pretty bad shape, but the lady wrote everything down. Great service and fast too. It also helped that I got there 30 minutes earlier.
Rented a car for 12:30, arrived at 12:33 due to heavy traffic and no one was at the office. Called the central services (almost immediately after still trying to call the contacts of this branch) and was told that I should not have been able to do the reservation for that time since the office would close, and that I should have arrived earlier because the office closes at 12:30. Nothing they could do and that I would need to cancel and pay the fine. One less customer...
Excellent customer service from Tatiana - she was the only person working at the Aveiro branch on the day and dealt perfectly with some unhappy customers in the queue ahead of me. She dealt with everything with professionalism and a smile. She was efficient helpful and not pushy - first class - thank you - a great credit to Europcar and they are lucky to have an employee like her!
