Don't recommend renting from them. Fees quoted do not match fees charged. Make sure you are not renting for any family member or they will rip them off if you are not there to review the contract.
Excellent customer service. I needed a SUV for one day and they made the the process great. I met a New York Giants fan(). They all were helpful and will be back for sure.
Worst car wash by far in Caldas da Rainha. I have used most of the automatic car wash bays in Caldas, today because I was passing, decided to use that of A Julio. Don't bother! What I can wash, rinse and polish on any of the other bays I couldn't even wash there, lance seems to have hot water and pressure but all it does is knocks off the flies and loose dirt, I assume they have cut back on detergent to save costs. I had to take the car home and wash it again. Can't even press the emergency stop to go find someone to complain about it as the timer keeps counting down.
Recently I rented an automatic Grey Nissan Micra 1.0 Gb100 CV. At the time I checked out the car there was a dent in the driver's side bumper. I attempted to take a photo, but the camera could not capture the dent. Upon return, a very young lady was too eager to find scratches or dents. She ignored me when I showed her a picture of dents that I was able to photograph. Of course, she located the dent in the bumper and the man who checked the car out to me informed her that the dent was not there upon check-out. I was charged 289,05 euros for a dent I did not make, and the failure of a representative to purposely document the dent. The extreme eagerness of the young lady, and a comments from a Portuguese acquaintance waiting for me added to my knowledge that I was scammed. The Portuguese acquaintance informed that Ajulio is known for doing this. I use to think the airport rentals were terrible due to their high price, but after dealing with this issue I'd rather pay the price instead of being charged for something I did not do.
I rented a car for a few days and the service I received when collecting and returning the car was excellent. The ladies working behind the desk were efficient and friendly, and spoke very good English (much better than my Portuguese). I found the price very competitive and will definitely use them again in the future.
AJ rent a car is conveniently located just on the outskirts of Caldas. Super simple to rent a car from them. Prices are competitive, service is polite and efficient. If you are planning to drive the car on toll roads you can request them to activate the Via Verde for a nominal cost of EUR2/- . They have a reasonable choice of vehicles for renting. The cars are clean and well sanitized.
Used this rental establishment a couple of times and they are really good, a good selection of vehicles from, small, to estates, 4x4,and small to large vans, staff are knowledgeable and very helpful, so if I ever need a vehicle I will go here, their pricing is reasonable as well, so worth a look if you need a vehicle.
Had the use of a rental car for this past 5 days and found the staff (young lady and young gentleman) in the rental office to be most pleasant and very helpful and the car was first class..!! Thank you for making the mishap with my own car less of a crisis.
