Insularcar - Rent a Car in Canico

We rented the car through our hotel Dom Pedro in Machico, Madeira for three day good price includes basic insurance the gentleman came over with the car when they said it would be ready went over all instructions answered all questions we got a Citroen C3 automatic 1.0 great little car with enough power easy return need a car in Machico this is the place to rent.

I phoned from UK to enquire about renting a small car for 5 days, two weeks before our holiday. Was offered a fair price by Insularcar, so went ahead with phone booking. Car was dropped off at our hotel on correct day, at correct time; rental man checked car with me, all fine. We used the car (Nissan Micra) everyday for 5 days, to see Madeira. Car went well, drove easy. Car was picked up 5 days later by the rental company, agent checked car with me, all good again. Rental process was very smooth, price fair, rental employees friendly. I was very pleased with the service, no problems, and had a great holiday. What more can you ask?

We've got new car with only 5K mileage. Pick up and drop off were very easy and smoothly. They don't block security deposit what is very pleasant.

Car ok but several issues with the gear box but I brought the car back with a full tank by mistake and they didn't try to contact me to give me back 40EUR ( got the car with only 1/3 in it...) So it was very expensive

Everything was perfect. We didn't make a reservation,so we was checking on the place what its the best option, and that was "Insularcar"! Very good prices and nice staff, specially Luiz who are very polite and helpful. Thx

Short walk 7 mins from hotel riu hired car for the day .car very clean staff very helpful. If you thinking of hireing a car go to insulator rental 10/10

I do not recommend this rental. I booked via Rentalcars with full insurance and !!full tank!! However, they gave me car with 1/3 tank. And it is really almost impossible to return the car back with the same fuel level. The car which I received was awfull, brakes K.O., tires K.O. and seemed that also engine was not ok ("check engine" control appeared many times). I understand that on this kind of roads it is normal that the cars are in bad condition after 100k km, but the rental was not so cheap and I expected a lot better quality, at least full tank!

Had a wonderful trip to Magical Madeira earlier this month made even better with the car case we hired from Insular after reading through the reviews on here. We booked through the economy car hire now zest as the rates were very reasonable. We hired for 5 days at cost of PS68 for a small car. We took the extra insurance from economy car hire for PS12.50, to include tyres and undersurface of the car. 20 euros paid locally for a child booster seat. I was greeted by Jorge their rep on arrival who explained everything n I signed the agreement. He asked for extra insurance which I refused as I had already taken one from zest. No hard sell. Tool us to our car which was parked outside. It was a newish (abt a year old) Renault Clio. Looked brand new to me. No marks on the car n tyres looked new. The car had an in-built satnav as well which meant that I didn't need to use my phone as satnav. The car drove very well even on the very steep climbs to Monte in 1st gear. The return was seamless as well at the airport and the deposit of 800 euro on credit card was cancelled. So very happy to recommend Insular. I have no affiliation to them. Just a happy customer.
