I had a very positive experience with Europcar Cascais. Pick-up and return was fast and easy. Deposit was returned fast also. The car wasn't the one I've booked, but the replace was fine also. Manager Tiago knows what is good service. Really appreciate his approach.
The friendly staff members were informative and efficient in getting us into our Alpha Romeo SUV. The vehicle was clean and new (fewer than 10000 km on the odometer).
The staff is extremely nice and helpful, the vehicles are always clean and well-handled. Would certainly recommend.
Customer service was excellent. The agent (friendly man with a beard - sorry I didn't catch your name) upgraded us to a Polestar 2 as we were renting only for one day to do some coastal sightseeing, and I didn't have to pay for the electric charge. After returning the car, he made sure to check with me how the driving experience was. It was my first time with Europcar and a totally pleasant experience. Thank you!
Super friendly and funny staff. Very compact and easy instruction. Very quick (<10min) and good parking opportunities. Upgrades and insurance offered but in a friendly way.
First ever use of Europcar Portugal. Cascais branch showed that some people are perfect in customer service roles. Mr. Tiago and his assistant Mr. Ricardo showed extreme levels of customer care not only with me but with customers ahead of me with the way they dealt with issues so close to office closing hour. Vehicle provided was excellent and more than expected with online rental. Additional options provided to us by branch staff recommend you add them to the online booking process. Well done Europcar Cascais. Only negative comment is the location, returning vehicle was hard to park as there is no parking only for Europcar on the busy main street. Had to jump pavement and park half on road and half on pavement.
If you are reading this, turn around. Right next to here is a car rental place that will treat you right. Go downstairs before you read through this disaster renting experience. Here are the 5 reasons not to rent from this Europcar. 1. The staff (particularly the lady with short hair) but also the older gentleman who ran outside to harass me for taking a photo of the outside location as you see pictures here. The lady with short hair told me that she could not take off the insurance, though I insisted she told me to book online instead. Which I did in 5 minutes right outside the store. I saved $67 booking online and then they let me know they needed online approval confirmation. I asked her politely to please help me, she said there's nothing we can do. You booked online. There is nothing we can do now, you should have booked through us. I then look for plea, who in this store will help? The younger gentleman with tattoos? The older gentlemen who chased me down the street a few minutes after? Nobody, not a single human. All sales robots. Selfishly upselling insurance, when it's not needed. 2. The prices, go downstairs it's cheaper, type car rental in your maps it's 357 feet away 3. The online booking system will cancel your car , see attached pictures 4. The lady with short hair (she quite possibly left me with the worst experience in a decade) I've rented cars in dozens of countries and successfully downstairs in less than 9 minutes. (No online booking) 5. The lack of empathy and willingness to help, customer service reps are there for this but clearly they are there to make commission and don't care about customers. I'd avoid this place as there are many better options.
Easy process to pick-up and drop-off, very friendly staff and clean car. The lady at the desk explained everything to us so it was a very good experience. First time renting a car for both me and my husband but if we ever need to do it again we would pick Europcar again
