It wasn't the best customer service experience. We rented the car tent. It was smaller than most car tents and definitely not big enough for 2 adults so we ended up getting air bnbs the whole trip instead. The bed and pillow kit was weird. Didn't come with real pillows, they were about 1/4 of a pillow and very thin. I wouldn't use them again. I have also still not received my deposit for the tolls or my damage deposit and it has been over a month since I returned the vehicle. I was charged for the tolls in addition to these deposits.

First experience in a van and it was perfect ! We rented the explorer for a full week and wished we had more time. We will definitely come back and rent with Hostel on Wheels again to go down south of Portugal. Thanks to HOW we had an amazing experience exploring Portugal for 6 days by car! The van was great as we had the opportunity to sleep on top in the tent as well as inside if it was too cold or windy. We had an amazing experience with HOW! They always answer email and whatsapp messages and everyone is very helpful and nice. The van was new, clean and in perfect condition. We did 6 days of free camping in the permitted areas and we felt completely safe and independent. We had the Explorer van and it was completely worth it! Can't wait until our next holiday in Portugal, we'll definitely go with HOW again!

It was the first time for me and my friend to have a camper experience. I can say that Portugal is the best destination and Hostel on Wheels is the best company for this experience. In 10 days we started our journey from Faro till Lisbon and stayed at incredible landscapes. It is an amazing feeling to sleep or to wake up at such scenes thanks to allowance to wild camping in Portugal. Also special thanks to Rodrigo for always returning us ASAP.

We rented a camper from Hostel on Wheels for eight days and drove along the entire Portuguese coast. We had the Adventure camper, and it didn t let us down for a single moment! The camper performed flawlessly, featuring a large water tank and a powerful battery, which made it incredibly convenient for our trip. Whenever we had questions, we could easily call or message HOW, and they responded immediately. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We had an amazing holiday and highly recommend Hostel on Wheels to anyone considering a camper adventure. Cant wait to do it again!

The four of us booked 2 cars with a roof tent, the takeover went very quickly and we were well looked after. If we had any problems, we could reach HOW by phone at any time, which meant we had to come back twice. The cars were clean and easy to drive. There is Apple Car Play, which sometimes causes problems, but is generally very useful for maps and music. The tent was a bit narrow and small for tall people to sleep in, but otherwise everything worked great. We felt very well looked after at all times and had a great time!

Bei Problemen jeglicher Art konnten wir HOW jederzeit telefonisch erreichen, worauf wir auch 2 mal zuruckkommen mussten. How lucky we found Hugo, from House on Wheels! He helped us a lot and offered us a spectacular camper that allowed us to continue our trip through Portugal, after being stuck with the previous camper that we had rented from another company. The story is that leaving Lisbon, the camper we were using left us stranded, but we wanted to continue our vacation in Portugal. After many hours of calling different camper companies and evaluating options (our money was very tight at that time), we found Hugo, who when explaining our situation was very honest in telling us that he would do everything possible to help us. In 1 hour he found the best camper option so that we could do the planned route with the budget we had. He also (although it was not part of his job) provided us with a place to spend the night peacefully sleeping in the camper he offered us. . The camper that House on Wheels provided us with, not only did it not give us any problems, but it also allowed us to enjoy every moment of the trip, giving us all kinds of peace of mind (its operation at a mechanical level) and all the comforts (indoor shower, toilet, Kitchen and FRIDGE (The refrigerator is always a hoot). When we finished our route and returned the camper, we were once again pleasantly surprised when Hugo was concerned about how we had been able to manage our return to Spain. They allowed us to calmly organize our luggage in their offices and finalize the details of our return. If you have any idea of renting a camper in Portugal or similar, we cant think of a better company to trust (I wish they had a headquarters in Spain). We have nothing but words of gratitude and good wishes for Hugo and his colleagues, since what they did for us is truly priceless. If it werent for them we would not have been able to complete our vacation.

Nos ayudo muchisimo y nos ofrecio una camper espectacular que nos permitio seguir nuestro viaje por Portugal, tras quedarnos tiradas con la anterior camper que habiamos alquilado en otra empresa. La historia es que saliendo de Lisboa, la camper que estabamos usando nos dejo tiradas, pero queriamos continuar nuestras vacaciones por Portugal. Despues de muchas horas de llamadas a diferentes empresas de campers y valorar opciones (nuestro dinero era muy ajustado en ese momento), dimos con Hugo, quien al explicarle nuestra situacion fue muy honesto al decirnos que haria todo lo posible por ayudarnos. En 1 hora encontro la mejor opcion de camper para que pudieramos realizar la ruta pensada con el presupuesto que teniamos, tambien (aunque no fuera parte de su trabajo) nos facilito un lugar donde pasar la noche tranquilas durmiendo dentro de la campera que el nos ofrecio. La camper que nos facilitaron desde House on Wheels, no solo no nos dio ningun problema, sino que nos permitio disfrutar de cada momento del viaje dandonos todo tipo de tranquilidad (su funcionamiento a nivel mecanico) y todas las comodidades (ducha interior, WC, Cocina y NEVERA (La nevera es siempre un puntazooooo). Al terminar nuestra ruta y regresar la camper, nos volvimos a llevar una grata sorpresa cuando Hugo se preocupo por como habiamos podido gestionar nuestro regreso a Espana. Nos permitio organizar en sus oficinas tranquilamente nuestro equipaje y ultimar los detalles de nuestro regreso. Si teneis idea de alquilar alguna camper en Portugal o semejante, no se nos ocurre mejor empresa en quien confiar (ojala tuvieran una sede en Espana). Nosotras no tenemos nada mas que palabras de gratitud y buenos deseos para Hugo y sus companeros, ya que lo que hicieron por nosotras realmente no tiene precio. De no ser por ellos no habriamos podido completar nuestras vacaciones.

We had a great 17 day vacation with a roof tent camper. Booking and collection was super easy. The service is also particularly good, as it is always available and helped us in a few difficult situations. The roof tent with car was the perfect size for two people and it took a maximum of 3 minutes to set up and take down.

Great vehicles and brilliant service. If you have any questions, you will be helped directly via WhatsApp messages or video calls. Its a cool team and you can rent a lot of additional equipment. We spent 17 nights traveling in the Adventure Van with 2 children (4 and 6 years old) and covered around 2000km. It was great and the van was perfect for us.

Our family (2 adults and 2 children) rented the Explorer for a week and a half last July and made a beautiful tour from Lisbon via the coast to Porto, Guimaraes and back to Lisbon via the interior. We found the contacts (calling via WhatsApp) in advance when booking and just before departure to be very pleasant. The rental men are very hospitable, friendly and relaxed. When you pick up the vehicle, you will receive detailed instructions and returning the camper also went very smoothly. It was also very nice that they helped us with booking a bus connection and taxi. Really great! We can highly recommend HOW Campers, we had a great first camper experience with our family!

I rented their Explorer RV by myself and had the best experience of my life. I was a bit nervous to drive the RV for the first time (and alone) but the van is so easy to drive and manage.
