Lena Rent a Car - Coimbra in Coimbra

One day of renting their cheapest car costs 100eur and they don't tell you full price at all. They also charge 250eur deposit and return it 5 weeks after. Administrative fee, cleaning fee etc. obviously a scam bussines model...they even charge extra if you drive 250km+...so if you own a credit card don't even think about coming in here.

Bad choice, they do everything to trick you. They charge at the end with taxes they did not mention before and then they defend themselves saying it was in contract. Not transparent. Not trusty. It will be way more expensive than you might think. These are not serious people.

I rented a car at this store about two times. For the first time there was a person who spoke English, so communication was easier. But that's the only thing that was positive because the money was never returned to me as it was written in the contract. They were constantly arguing about the finance department. When I rented a car for the first time, they didn't even mention that there is an administration fee, and then also for cleaning for which they will also deduct money from the deposit. The second time there was a person in the store who spoke only Portuguese and he could not speak English, so we communicated through Google Translate. The funny thing is that we agreed that I would not be charged for the cleaning when I returned the car clean. The person in the store saw it, that car was clean and even so they deducted from my deposit even for cleaning the car. Another thing is that they returned my deposit after almost 2 months. They didn't reply to my messages, they didn't communicate, and when I finally got an answer to the message, where is my money, they replied that they were repairing the store, that's why they didn't send it to me earlier. So I ask, why do we sign a contract when half of it is not respected? I will not use this company again after this experience. I am disappointed and angry because the car they offer you does not cost EUR50 per day, but in reality 80-90EUR.

I recently rented a car from this company. The process was relatively straight forward at the beginning. With a couple oddities; they required payment in advance to confirm the booking and a EUR200 deposit (used towards damages). After I send the money all communications stop. Even when I enquired about changing my payment (and deposit) to a credit card (for insurance coverage) they didn't respond. I did take numerous photos when picking up the car and ALL documents were in Portuguese. I did translate a document related to CDW insurance but not the primary document. After the rental period I asked about the return of the deposit. I was took take banking took place on the 20th of the month. Which is reasonable BUT when I received the deposit back it was EUR40 less. I emailed and asked why the full deposit was not returned. I was told that an administrative and cleaning fee are applied to the rental. Something that I feel should be told (or written on their webpage) to anyone who's first language isn't Portuguese. I rented from other companies in Portugal and the process was the same as the UK, North American, Europe, etc. But not Lena. I would not use this company again.

The only advantage here was that they accepted debit card, but when we went to see the person at the store, he was not there, and he told us to go back, this happened more than once. They don't respect the working hours that the place says they work, and at the end they returned the deposit 2 months later, and they took extra 25EUR for the service that we were not aware of. We won't rent in this place again.

I rented a Renault Clio for only one day. It was a sudden idea so we didn't have any reservations (although I higly reccommend to make one) but they still managed to provide a vehicle for us. The car was in great condition, I had very good experience about the renting. I am not from Portugal but Miguel informed me about everything I had to know. He told me everything more than once so we could prevent every misunderstanding. The prices were decent too. We will definitely rent a car from them while we are still in Coimbra!

Perfect service and.credit card is not needed, I rented a car here for 4 days for a 1000+ km roadtrip to go to Algarve and the car didn't have any kind of trouble, all of this for a very competitive price. Except this I recommend Lena because the staff here has been very helpful and mice for the whole experience and I want to conclude this review by thanking Lena again for my great experience

Professional and helpful. The only ones that accepted also debit card for payment and deposit (200 EUR) Very satisfied with the service.
