Our SIXT Branch is quite visible and with an easy access for both individual customers and families. To make things even easier for our customers, we have a key Drop Off Box available between 12pm and 06am.

Take detailed pictures all over the vehicle when picking up, including under skirts, tyres, roof etc. They will try to find damage when you return. Slow process to collect the van - join first queue to sort paper work, then a further queue to collect the van, took 50 minutes, and the staff were really not in a hurry. When returning the van a bit of damage was quickly identified on the tyre wall, marked and photographed. Luckily we took very detailed pictures when we picked up the vehicle which showed the damage to be existing already. To be fair they checked with a supervisor and all sorted. If we didn't have the pre-rent pictures I dread to think what they would charge for a new tyre. Fantastic experience at Sixt. Pickup was very professional and courteous. My car was a practically new Peugeot, about 9,000 km. I picked up at Faro airport, dropped off in downtown Lisbon after having the car for 4 days. It was an OUTSTANDING car! For those who are the complaining type - no matter where you rent, GET FULL COVERAGE INSURANCE WITH NO DEDUCTIBLE! Yes, it costs more, and yes, its completely worth it for the peace of mind. Every parked car in Lisbon has a bump or scratch on one of the corners. Parking is ridiculous. Ignore the haters and don't be afraid to rent here. When I dropped off the car, I literately walked away from it because I had "full coverage". I watched another car get dropped and the agent at Sixt went over the car with a fine toothed comb - as they should!
As with lots of other reviews here, after taking really good care of the car, we have been charged 200 euro for "damage" to the tire (conveniently the one part of the car we didn't have insurance on). After we complained and sent a picture of the tire from when we picked it up where you could see they were old and scratched, they removed part of the charge (for taking the car out of service for the day) but refused to acknowledge the photo and went ahead and took the payment off our card. We have used Sixt in many countries as they have a good reputation but honestly at least in Portugal you may as well go with a cheaper company and get the same experience.

If you are thinking about renting a car here, consider this facts. they will charge you the damage or wear that you did not even make. As you guys can see other reviews they will scam you like other cheap rental car company. but this is Sixt I always trusted this company. I reached out regarding this issue to SIXT where the owner of this business replies to everyone has same experience. IT WILL NOT BE RESOLVED they said even though I took a video before I picked up it is not evidence. it's a joke. I literally have no reason to lie. my credit card company is really good and will cover the damage but this is just not right and let's be fair. This is really just you can tell immediately they are trying to scam if you have common sense. Since it seems like only toward foreigners it's not just about rental car company reputation but also reputation about your own country Portugal. Because of this experience I will never even consider going there again or if there's anyone want to go, I ll not recommend. Please see the big picture. its maybe beneficial for short term cash flow but not long run. I even got charged bolt that I did not even see. I ve been renting with sixt a lot but never ever experience this scam activity. Lucky my credit card company has collision coverage but this is just not right. tire condition was the condition you MUST replace immediately, car was stinky. Reviews from other sixt loction, if you drop off at the airport, most likely you will experience this scam. The local (center Lisbon) location doesn't have this scam experience. I don't want anyone to experience this scam and only have good image of traveling. I really don't understand this scam, it's killing whole business and image of own country.
Whilst my initial collection with Andre (same name as my Mum so I remembered the name) was excellent, after 4 days of rental I get a report that new damage is present; dint on the front bumper down to the primer, 3 areas on the roof and the rear c pillar. Luckily I take photos when I collect the vehicle and I can see the front bumper and the side damage but very rarely do I check the roof. I rent lots of vehicles on a regular basis and have never been subjected to such practices as I have been with Sixt at Faro airport, it is my first time renting with Sixt in Faro, I usually go to a competitor but believe me I will not be returning. Luckily I have cover with my credit card but for those unlucky, I wish you look in getting this resolved.
Do not use this company! I returned a car with zero damage and the lady was very rude to my family and I. They have since just taken money from my account for a slight mark on a tyre which was practically bald anyway and needed replacing. They have also tried to claim for tiny little scratches on the bumper which were already there. It's a a con, don't use them!!
I just delivered my rented VW Taigo in the Faro Airport after 7 smooth driving days. The pick up in Lisbon was so smooth and easy, and very friendly. The delivery was made indoor at the car park so neither the Sixt representative or myself saw the tiny surface scratches at the bottom plastic front. (Last picture) Now to the point, the delivery process, not friendly at all, the Sixt representative was arrogant and insinuated strongly that the scratches was made now. They are not, I'm fully insured so this will not cost me anything no matter the outcome, but what an unpleasant experience.
