I didn't have any problems. I agree the car wasn't brand new and had seen better days. I had good value for money. When I returned the car, they inspected it and all was well. Just be warned, the roads in Portugal are not for the faint hearted.
Car was ok, though front tyres were both badly worn. Slow to process paperwork on arrival, and delay in collecting us from the airport. We needed special assistance at the airport. When we asked the shuttle driver to drop us there, he questioned our need sat the start and end of the journey. Shuttle driver drove dangerously.
Short wait for shuttle bus adjacent car hire hub in car park P4. 10 mins shuttle bus to the outskirts of Faro on Loule road. Excellent English spoken by reception staff. For VW Up! read Fiat Panda every time! Collection is a "bit of a process": wouldn't be good if you were in a rush. They didn't bother with it all though with the older couple that were next in the queue: just gave them the keys & off? So, what was that all about? On the Loule road, easy to get to the main A2 toll road easy to west.
I found Very polite on arrival until you return the car , then they find scratches in places that you simply wouldn't look at . It's like they knew where to look. Cost me PS230 I felt like I was robbed in daylight. They know you have a flight to catch so the more you dispute it , the longer they take. Finally you give up or miss your flight. Picture shows the so-called mark that cost PS230
Had to pay for a small scratch I did not do and tyres were dead!...guess what, was told I should have shouted before. Unpleasant and unprofessional staff! Broken mirrors not listed on the list edited by the company. Debit authorisation of 2400 Eur not cancelled/was told to wait 7 days!
ABSOLUTE SCAM - USE AT OWN RISK Horrible experience from start to finish. First of all, make sure you read through all the terms and conditions, if you are not on time they will cancel your reservation, including if your plane is delayed. After an hour back and forth with customer service they agreed to let me get the car if I could be there in 30 minutes, which was unreasonable, but fine, we made it. Once there they told me that since I purchased insurance through the booking agency and not at the counter they didn't recognize it and would need to put a $2,400 hold on my card, which was not communicated beforehand. Once my vehicle arrived it was in terrible condition. It was terribly scratched and dented, it had clearly been in an accident. The official information sheet had marked several of the scratches and dents on one side, but did not mark all of them. When we did the inspection the employee marked many new dents and scratches that were not on the original paperwork. We took photos of the major damage and signed the updated paperwork and left. We returned the vehicle to a different location and the employee found a scratch on the only part of the vehicle that we didn't photograph and decided to charge us for the damages. It was a scratch on the rear rim which was clearly consistent with the damage on that side of the vehicle from its previous accident. The attendant sent a text to the Faro location asking for the updated damage information, because apparently we were only the out of date damage report. They didn't respond so he proceeded to charge me for the damage, when I asked him what else he can do he just kept dismissively saying "what do you want me to do about it". He acted like it was entirely unreasonable for me to request he call them instead of text. Once he finally called them the team in Faro refused to look up the documents and they told me to just go through insurance. The whole ordeal was the least professional experience of my life. I have rented dozens of vehicles in my life and I've never interacted with a more terrible company. I will be telling my booking company I suspect them of committing insurance fraud. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK
Very bad experience, I don't wish it to anyone. They have been trying to take extra money from the check-in. To this day my credit card is still getting charged for tolls I paid on the checkout. Absolute fraud company that keeps your credit card details and use it a month after to charge you more. At checkout, they try to find the minimal thing on the car to charge a fortune for it. A hair-thin scratch on the bumper cost me 460EUR. Absolute daylight-robbery! Cheap rental just to find anything to charge you on checkout. Orlando did not speak a single word of English or was friendly to me at all. Don't go near these scammers. Select a more reputable company
Good cars, not many options to chose but atleast we got very new car. Remember, carry your PHYSICAL CREDIT CARD for the deposit with a limit of AT LEAST 2400 Euros or they will make you buy another insurance (even if you had an insurance from the car rental sites) to make the deposit lower to 400 Euros. If you have used your DEBIT card to pay such deposit earlier , their software doesn't accept it and the only option you will have would be to cancel the booking. Rest all good and yes they speak English.
