I didn't have any problems. I agree the car wasn't brand new and had seen better days. I had good value for money. When I returned the car, they inspected it and all was well. Just be warned, the roads in Portugal are not for the faint hearted.

Car was ok, though front tyres were both badly worn. Slow to process paperwork on arrival, and delay in collecting us from the airport. We needed special assistance at the airport. When we asked the shuttle driver to drop us there, he questioned our need sat the start and end of the journey. Shuttle driver drove dangerously.

Short wait for shuttle bus adjacent car hire hub in car park P4. 10 mins shuttle bus to the outskirts of Faro on Loule road. Excellent English spoken by reception staff. For VW Up! read Fiat Panda every time! Collection is a "bit of a process": wouldn't be good if you were in a rush. They didn't bother with it all though with the older couple that were next in the queue: just gave them the keys & off? So, what was that all about? On the Loule road, easy to get to the main A2 toll road easy to west.

I found Very polite on arrival until you return the car , then they find scratches in places that you simply wouldn't look at . It's like they knew where to look. Cost me PS230 I felt like I was robbed in daylight. They know you have a flight to catch so the more you dispute it , the longer they take. Finally you give up or miss your flight. Picture shows the so-called mark that cost PS230

Had to pay for a small scratch I did not do and tyres were dead!...guess what, was told I should have shouted before. Unpleasant and unprofessional staff! Broken mirrors not listed on the list edited by the company. Debit authorisation of 2400 Eur not cancelled/was told to wait 7 days!

ABSOLUTE SCAM - USE AT OWN RISK Horrible experience from start to finish. First of all, make sure you read through all the terms and conditions, if you are not on time they will cancel your reservation, including if your plane is delayed. After an hour back and forth with customer service they agreed to let me get the car if I could be there in 30 minutes, which was unreasonable, but fine, we made it. Once there they told me that since I purchased insurance through the booking agency and not at the counter they didn't recognize it and would need to put a $2,400 hold on my card, which was not communicated beforehand. Once my vehicle arrived it was in terrible condition. It was terribly scratched and dented, it had clearly been in an accident. The official information sheet had marked several of the scratches and dents on one side, but did not mark all of them. When we did the inspection the employee marked many new dents and scratches that were not on the original paperwork. We took photos of the major damage and signed the updated paperwork and left. We returned the vehicle to a different location and the employee found a scratch on the only part of the vehicle that we didn't photograph and decided to charge us for the damages. It was a scratch on the rear rim which was clearly consistent with the damage on that side of the vehicle from its previous accident. The attendant sent a text to the Faro location asking for the updated damage information, because apparently we were only the out of date damage report. They didn't respond so he proceeded to charge me for the damage, when I asked him what else he can do he just kept dismissively saying "what do you want me to do about it". He acted like it was entirely unreasonable for me to request he call them instead of text. Once he finally called them the team in Faro refused to look up the documents and they told me to just go through insurance. The whole ordeal was the least professional experience of my life. I have rented dozens of vehicles in my life and I've never interacted with a more terrible company. I will be telling my booking company I suspect them of committing insurance fraud. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK

Very bad experience, I don't wish it to anyone. They have been trying to take extra money from the check-in. To this day my credit card is still getting charged for tolls I paid on the checkout. Absolute fraud company that keeps your credit card details and use it a month after to charge you more. At checkout, they try to find the minimal thing on the car to charge a fortune for it. A hair-thin scratch on the bumper cost me 460EUR. Absolute daylight-robbery! Cheap rental just to find anything to charge you on checkout. Orlando did not speak a single word of English or was friendly to me at all. Don't go near these scammers. Select a more reputable company

Good cars, not many options to chose but atleast we got very new car. Remember, carry your PHYSICAL CREDIT CARD for the deposit with a limit of AT LEAST 2400 Euros or they will make you buy another insurance (even if you had an insurance from the car rental sites) to make the deposit lower to 400 Euros. If you have used your DEBIT card to pay such deposit earlier , their software doesn't accept it and the only option you will have would be to cancel the booking. Rest all good and yes they speak English.

Attention arnaque!!! j ai loue une fiat 500 5 jours ils m ont facture 123 euro pour des griffes sur les enjoliveurs plastique qui etait presente avant la location malgre des photo prise. Pour le retour il vous donne rendez vous 1h avant votre vol pour que vous n ayez pas le temps de contester par manque de temps agence a eviter absolument.

Rented a car here in Faro in September, and was the only place I used this card. A month later we ve got a random charge from Spain for automobile rental. Tried to contact them but there s no site, so you re directed to facebook. There s also nothing in the transaction to specify the company name for reference. But assume to be robbed, even for pennies. You ll also find that you have to walk 5 mins in the carpark to get to an extremely unorganised and infrequent minibus to then travel 15 mins to another site to pick up your car. When dropping off, you then have to sit in 1 of 2 queues of cars that take 5-10 mins per car to sign off the drop off before you can leave, to the wait on a bus for a transfer back to the end of the airport car park.

Adding my review to offer balance to some of the more recent reviews who describe an experience different to mine. I rented with Surprice a few weeks back having booked through the Ryanair website. I hadnt heard of them before but offering an all-in price that was reasonable, was why I decided to go with them. Having read some of the reviews before travelling I was a little nervous about what to expect, but everything was absolutely fine. One point about the off-terminal car rental companies in Faro airport (applies to more than just Surprice), its not that intuitive as to where to go when you arrive. I didnt find any signs that directed me where to go and ended up having to use my phone to google where the pickup was from (Car park P4 - over to your left as you come out of the airport arrivals). The pickup arrangement is a bit chaotic too as there are a lot of people waiting in a single place for different buses to come and take them to the company they booked with. I spotted the Surprice bus maybe 100 meters away from that place, and from that point on everything was straightforward. The bus driver had a list of all the people collecting cars and was able to find me on a list. It took less than 10 minutes until we were in the Surprice office, a couple of miles from the airport. The office is very clean and welcoming. There were 2 agents working which is more than enough for the amount of people they had to deal with. The agent who I dealt with was great to deal with. He was able to clearly communicate everything I needed to know to me, and could answer every question I had. Some of the negative reviews have mentioned hidden charges. Id contend that they arent hidden charges per se, but rather optional extras. I ended up paying a little extra than my all-in deal but that was by choice. I added an extra driver for 9 euro per day, and opted to rent the tag for the automatic tolls (well worth it). I could have opted to forego either of these. The agent was quite clear about this, so this is something people should be aware of ahead of travelling/booking with them. The car itself was perfect. I only needed something small for my needs and the car was in immaculate condition. There was a walk-around checking for damage. A company employee helped me during this process, showing all of the damage they were aware of, and encouraging me to take all the photos I needed to. This was very reassuring. The return was trouble-free also. They will inspect the car there and then, as well as settle up for all of the toll costs incurred. The inspection was thorough but far. They also checked the inside of the car (again, fair enough), and ensured the fuel level is as per the agreement. I was notified there would be no additional charges. The bus back to the airport was the same that brought us from the airport. There was a little wait for it, so give yourselves ample time to make your flight. Overall I was pleasantly surprised with everything about this experience, and will definitely use them again. I might opt to go directly with the company, rather than through ryanair in future. My advice would be to do a little research and know what to expect when dealing with Surprice. If you do, all will be fine.

Reserved the rental car through Expedia. We took the shuttle bus from the airport to the pick-up station and we were picked up straight away. We were asked about toll pass and insurance, like any other provider. We didnt need the insurance. We then looked at the car together with an employee and noted any damage. I prefer to take my own pictures. Car was as in the category ordered and as good as new. Just a few minor scratches - as is common with rental cars in the south. We had no problems during the 10 days. The return was also problem-free, we examined it again together and everything was fine. You will receive an email documenting the pickup and delivery status. Deposit, as announced with Expedia, was refunded within a week. I didnt have a negative experience and would happily book there again.

Haben den Mietwagen uber Expedia reserviert. Sind vom Flughafen mit dem Shuttlebus zur Abholstation gefahren und dort wurden wir gleich abgewickelt. Wir wurden wegen Mautpass und Versicherung gefragt, wie bei jedem anderen Anbieter auch. Die Versicherung haben wir nicht gebraucht. Danach haben wir zusammen mit einem Mitarbeiter das Auto angesehen und Beschadigungen aufgenommen. Ich mache mir da am liebsten meine eigenen Bilder. Auto war wie in der bestellten Kategorie und neuwertig. Nur ein paar kleinere Kratzer- wie bei Mietwagen im Suden ublich. Wahrend der 10 Tage hatten wir keine Probleme. Auch die Ruckgabe war Problemlos, haben zusammen nochmal das Begutachtet und alles war in Ordnung. Man bekommt jeweils eine Mail, in der der Hol- und Bringzustand dokumentiert sind. Kaution, wie bei Expedia vorangekundigt, wurde innerhalb von einer Woche zuruck erstattet. Ich habe keine negative Erfahrung gemacht, werde gerne wieder dort buchen.

1 star just because the car was nice . On arrival, I instantly got pushed into the extra damage waiver insurance ( which I had already purchased through jet 2 ) I said I was happy to pay the access fee that they hold on my debit card but apparently it had to be made on a credit card . So my daughter said she would put the access on her card but because she wasnt the car hire booker this apparently couldnt be done either . I had no choice but to pay the PS180 extra , which put a huge dampener on my 1st day . When I checked my bank they had still put a PS400 holding deposit on my account the one that apparently couldnt be held on a debit card . They also said my tank was full of fuel and had to be brought back full . It wasnt full when I left so took it back 3 quarters full and they wanted to charge me , luckily I took a photo of the level before I left the garage. I was talking to other customers while waiting and they had all had issues also . Avoid at all costs , what you think will be a reasonable rental turns out to be hundres more than expected scammers !!

The surprise with them is that even a scratch present on the vehicle at the beginning will be charged to you at the end as by chance they took a photo of the vehicle from all sides except at this place.... Next time I Ill go to a traditional rental company to avoid problems

Not so nice Surprice!! I was NOT informed about the tolls when I collected the car and had to pay a PS30 fee as compensation. Thats poor customer service. Perhaps the information appears somewhere in the rental agreement.....but it costs you or staff nothing to mention this upon collecting the car.....and in my case....the staff said nothing about the tolls.
