AKI Rent a Car in Funchal

This company literally saved my vacation. Because before that I had a negative experience with Goldcar where I couldn't rent a car due to credit/debit cards. Everything is easy in Aka - you pay for the rent without any credit cards and that's it, simple and convenient. Polite and pleasant staff. We rented a Citroen C3 with 63k kilometers, the car is in good technical and visual condition and has Android auto and Apple car play what very useful. I liked that you can leave car at the airport. Avoid if you can. Any bump you might suffer by your own actions or others will be deducted on you. the photo Ive atached suposedly costs 103 to repair - i have no clue how it got there, but I was forced to pay. extremely scummy practice. avoid at all costs

Highly recommend this car company. There are many many companies to choose from in Madeira and most of them have horrible reviews. We went with AKI due to a recommendation and it was worth it. The staff are very helpful, they don't try to rip you off and offer lots of support. The car itself was good but lacked power going up hills. But that's our fault as we chose the smaller engine size to save money. I recommend this place and paying a bit more to remove the stress that can come with renting a car abroad!

lady at the office told us the cars are fully insured, nothing to worry about if it isn't your fault. when we returned the car, the inspector noticed someone had dinged the passenger door, superficial paint scratch only (1mm paint chip, no deformation, we couldn't notice it before she showed it to us, upon inspection with a flashlight). they made us pay 165EUR for nothing, we even called the police and they said because of their contract, there is nothing we can do. karma made the inspector crash the car in the wall when she picked up the car from the hotel... also the car was full of scratches already so i'm guessing they charged other customers for repairs which they never took care of. be cautios of hidden clauses in the contract...

Highly recommended. We took the Hyundai i10 (Red with black roof). The car was in very good condition. The staff was friendly and helpful. No deposit was needed! The price was like in other rental companies. I really recommend it.

I had an outstanding experience with AKI rental! From start to finish, everything was smooth and hassle-free. The vehicle was in pristine condition and Marta recommended a great car for us to drive around the hills on the island. Returning the car was just as easy, with no hidden fees or surprises. The rates were very reasonable, and the customer service was top-notch. They were able to arrange for dropping us off at the airport on our last day as well! Would recommend anyone visiting Madeira to look at renting through AKI!

Excellent car rental company. Least hassle and most honest dealings I have had with a rental company during my travels (and that includes the US and Europe!). There were literally no hidden extras, no annoying up-selling and the car was in excellent condition. Used it for a tour round the island and also see the sunrise at the summit. Very happy to use again to reward an honest quality service. Thanks
