Very simple and transparent transaction: from booking to receipt of payment. Extremely friendly and warm and accommodating for vehicle pickup: we were running a bit behind in our scheduled pickup, and they called and offered to bring it to us instead, which helped tremendously- turns out Madiera isn't QUITE as walkable as we thought. Definitely a service I would happily use again.

The best car rental experience I have ever had. I do a lot of traveling, and this by far has been my best experience. Very transparent on pricing through and through and no surprise charges like others I have done. Also very welcoming and kind folks for both pickup and drop off. Madeira Hot Wheels came to the rescue in our time of need! Fast, uncomplicated and cheap. Before our vacation, we reserved a car with OK Mobility near the airport via Booking.com. We chose them because they had the cheapest deal we could find. Unfortunately, things went quite wrong... There was supposed to be a shuttle service from the airport there and it was also described when booking where it should leave. Unfortunately, there was no information that you should call as soon as you were there so that the shuttle would be sent. Since they wanted our flight information when booking, we thought they would come at some point in a timely manner. After we had stood there for half an hour (pretty stupid after the long plane ride and with a 2.5 year old with us), I called them and they said they would come and get us straight away. But then we had to wait another 20 minutes to reach the destination within 5 minutes. We were correspondingly unnerved when the actual booking finally started. At first everything went well, but then things failed at the end of the booking process. I had to swipe my credit card through a reader and then enter my credit card PIN. The PIN. Something you never need with a credit card. Of course I didnt know that. I tried to get something done by calling my bank, but that didnt solve the problem. The clerk told me there was no other way to use the credit card other than with the PIN - which of course is complete nonsense. When we called the boss, she didnt want to deal with our problem any longer and simply said clearly that there was no other way. By now we had wasted another hour and we were all pretty famished. After we still couldnt get a car from OK Mobility after a good 2 hours, I had to contact our apartment to let them know that we needed longer. Our contact wanted to know about our problem and then suggested that we contact Madeira Hot Wheels, which we did immediately. The nice man, who spoke really good English, explained to us our options and that you could of course use your credit card as usual (without a PIN) using an online form. A driver then brought the car directly to where we were and when we left we were able to hand the car back to the driver directly at the airport without having to look for a parking space first. We were very satisfied with the advice and the car. This island has a lot of very steep and narrow streets, so it was really worth taking an automatic with a turbo!

Wir hatten sie ausgewahlt, weil sie das gunstigste Angebot hatten, das wir finden konnten. Leider ging es dann aber ziemlich schief... Es sollte einen Shuttle Service vom Flughafen dorthin geben und es war auch bei der Buchung beschrieben, wo dieser abfahren sollte. Leider fehlte die Information, dass man sich telefonisch melden sollte, sobald man dort ware, damit das Shuttle geschickt wurde. Da sie bei der Buchung unsere Fluginformationen haben wollten, dachten wir, sie wurden irgendwann zeitnah kommen. Nachdem wir eine halbe Stunde uns dort die Beine in den Bauch gestanden hatten (ziemlich blod nach der langen Flugreise und mit einem 2,5jahrigen dabei), rief ich dort an und sie sagten, sie wurden gleich kommen und uns holen. Dann mussten wir aber noch weitere 20 Minuten warten, um anschliessend innerhalb von 5 Minuten das Ziel zu erreichen. Entsprechend entnervt waren wir dann bereits, als es endlich mit der tatsachlichen Buchung losging. Erst ging alles gut, aber dann sollte es am Ende des Buchungsprozesses doch scheitern. Ich musste meine Kreditkarte durch einen Lesegerat ziehen und anschliessend meine Kreditkarten PIN eingeben. Die PIN. Das, was man bei der Kreditkarte niemals braucht. Naturlich wusste ich die nicht. Ich versuchte noch uber einen Anruf bei meiner Bank etwas zu bewirken, was aber keine Losung brachte. Der Angestellte sagte mir, es gebe keine andere Moglichkeit, die Kreditkarte zu benutzen, als mit der PIN - was naturlich totaler Blodsinn ist. Als wir dann die Chefin holten, wollte sie sich gar nicht langer mit unserem Problem beschaftigen und sagte nur deutlich, dass es halt nicht anders gehe. Inzwischen hatten wir eine weitere Stunde verplempert und wir waren alle ziemlich ausgehungert. Nachdem wir nach guten 2 Stunden immer noch kein Auto bei OK Mobility bekommen konnten, musste ich mich bei unserem Appartement melden, um Bescheid zu geben, dass wir langer benotigten. Unsere Kontaktperson wollte von unserem Problem wissen und schlug uns dann vor, dass wir uns bei Madeira Hot Wheels melden, was wir auch umgehend taten. Der nette und wirklich gut englisch sprechende Mann, erklarte uns, unsere Optionen und, dass man bei ihnen naturlich uber ein online Formular die Kreditkarte wie gewohnt (ohne PIN) einsetzen konne. Anschliessend brachte ein Fahrer uns das Auto direkt dorthin, wo wir waren und bei unserer Abreise konnten wir das Auto direkt am Flughafen dem Fahrer wieder ubergeben, ohne dass wir erst einen Parkplatz hatten suchen mussen. Mit der Beratung und dem Auto waren wir sehr zufrieden. Auf dieser Insel hat man sehr viele sehr steile und enge Strassen, so dass es sich wirklich gelohnt hat, einen Automatik mit Turbo zu nehmen!

Pay extra for no deposits and then 200 euros are charged onto your account without authorization, its not written anywhere that they ask for a deposit and you find out after payment. Then they say its for interior damages, return car and security is returned as well. After car return they say they keep the money 30 days (I have not been informed of that as well) for fines and parking tickets. Otherwise the car is new and in excellent condition and the manager was friendly and helpful.
