I didn't expect it but it was the best experience I've had renting a car and I've rented cars from all over the world. From now on, I will always go with local rental companies first before using congregate platforms like discover cars and kayak. We wanted a car for one day because a forest fire cancelled all our hiking plans. But prices on other websites were ridiculously high because many people were also trying to rent cars for the day. But I found Williams on google maps and messaged the WhatsApp number around 11am. Within a minute, I got a response offering a car for a very reasonable price including full insurance, ready for pickup in just 60 minutes. They even offered to pick us up from the city so we don't have to go into their airport office. Then that night, we wanted the car for another day and once again we got a very quick response on WhatsApp approving our extension for the same price and we just have to pay when we return the car. It was a seamless experience and top tier customer service. Highly recommended!

Best car rental experience I ever had! Friendly advice: always go with small, local companies. While planning our 14-day holiday in Madeira, I was digging through the depths of the internet and found William's Rent a Car. Indeed, they don't show up on the first page when searching for car rental in Madeira. Yes, their website is old-fashioned. But they were brilliant, from the first contact to the car drop off. We initially booked an automatic Dacia Sandero but at the airport, we were greeted with a nice surprise upgrade: a new Mazda 2 Hybrid Automatic, which had around 6000km, so basically brand new. It was for us a great start for an unforgettable holiday in Madeira. Being a hybrid, it was very economical and had the huge advantage of the electric motor, especially useful on the very steep streets of Madeira (I've seen signs of inclines of 32%!) We paid cash on arrival, full insurance included, no deposit, no credit card needed, no prepayment. Communication was simple, fast and the staff deserves a raise Would definitely book again!

Excellent communication, good and reliable cars, good price. I found them on the net and I wasn't disappointed. What they promised we got. They gave us the best price (automatic cars, full insurance) for cars to rental picking/returning and paying (by cash or cards as you want) only at the airport. We just had to complete the ordering form on the net, sending them and waited to arrive. We got the confirmation by email and before arriving they gave us all information (gmail and whatsapp).
