So far so good. Shuttle to the car pick up was pretty quick, car is in pretty good condition. Three or four small scuffs on it but you have to look closely. Staff were friendly and quick Just returned the car with no hassles at all. No extra charges. Fuel is like for like so no need to find a petrol station near the drop off. Shuttle to the airport came immediately.
I hired a car and insurance for 5days at Lisbon airport and drop-off at Porto airport through booking.com. Tricky part is I had to find someone with company board (greenmotion) outside at Lisbon airport because they dont' have check-in counter in the airport rental car place and waited more than 20min to get shuttle bus because of traffic. At the Porto airport, they checked toll I used and paid there. I had no extra charge other than toll and deposit returned very quickly. All stuff are friendly and well explained (according to them, basically no charge for less than 2cm scratch). Very clean and functional and also very reasonable. Thank you, Green Motion stuff!
We booked to hire a car with green motion through a broker (as many people do) and because of this, experienced issues with our booking because there were things that the broker had not been clear about (small print). Despite this, Miguel was really helpful and friendly and helped us to resolve the issues, even giving us recommendations for things to do in Lisbon. I recommend booking direct to make sure the insurance you think you're getting covers you for everything and you are not left with any surprises when you arrive!! But thank you to the staff (in particular Miguel) for helping us out and making our trip in Portugal memorable!
After a terrible experience at Ok Mobility next door, we had an amazing experience at Green Motion! Great customer service from Bernardo, super friendly and helpful at answering any questions! We were able to get a last minute car on a Saturday, including full coverage which covered tolls, for 2 days at around 110 euros which we thought was a great price! The car was practically new, very clean, ran perfectly, and we didn't have to worry about any accidental scratches or documenting everything since we had full coverage! Just reminder you need your passport, license, and a visa credit card to book (we almost forgot our visa at home, glad we remembered it!) Will definitely rent from then again!
Had a great experience renting our car from here. They picked us up at the airport easily in the shuttle area. The transaction to grab our car was simple and smooth. The drop off was efficient and the car was perfect! Will definitely rent from here again and would highly recommend!
I think if you document any damage carefully, don't damage the car at all, pay some fees for extras like the automatic tolls (which added up to about 70 Euros over a month for us), then you will probably have a decent experience. Read on for more details. Be sure to check the car carefully and take lots of pictures. Make sure they mark down any tiny dents or scratches. Do this also upon return, so you have proof of the condition when you returned it. So far I have not had the issues others have mentioned with minor scratch charges, though (by luck) there were no extra scratches or dents after using the car for about a month that they could charge me for. Read the instructions they give about the shuttle carefully, and maybe ask someone who looks like they are coordinating shuttle companies or have a clipboard at the airport pickup location, as it is not obvious who to speak to about the shuttle. Definitely leave lots of time for the shuttle to and from their facility, I had to ask them to take us to the airport, when they were just standing around talking after waiting a while. I highly recommend you pay for the automated toll device. There are some toll spots that have no way to pay otherwise. You will probably still have to pay some tolls directly, particularly if you leave Portugal. Also, if you are going to go out of the country, be sure you tell them that and be ready for the fee for it. The office staff I dealt with (particularly Bernardo?) were professional. However, do not count on being able to call them later and have them answer. I got lucky once when I called, and later when I tried to call again about extending, they never picked up. Email them instead, the response was fast and professional then. I did not like the fact that they put a sticker on the window with their company name, as that screamed this is a rental car. However, we were fortunate that no one tried to break into it, and we did our best to keep things out of sight. If you do not have a credit card that covers extra insurance, you may want to consider getting some sort of insurance from them or somebody else. We are trusting that the 1500 Euro deposit has been returned by now, though we cannot tell either way on our credit card. There was no indication or proof that it would be returned when I returned the car other than the verbal indication they gave me. We got a great deal by renting through Ryanair. The car was a very new Fiat hybrid. It was absolutely gutless on hills, did not get quite as good a gas mileage as we expected, and I think that is more on Fiat than the rental company. The gas gauge very quickly went off full, and that could have been the prior renter making it barely look full.
Unprofessional tiny sign at the airport for the shuttle bus. Fortunately, a lady who works for other company noticed that we were looking for something and helped then we finally met a guy with the Green motion sign. We patiently waited for the Shuttle bus and sadly breathed the heavy exhaust fumes for almost half a hour. Staffs were quite a few at the pick up counter, can't imagine what would be like in summer busy season. We unreasonably had to wait coz only 1 staff was available at the counter, oh dear. Shuttle bus still a problem until the end. We returned the car and were told to wait for the shuttle. We were there waiting with on one for half a hour, finally bus came but the group of people who just finished returning their rental car and reached the shuttle first took the available seat in shuttle instead of us. We were furious and insist to go. Pls manage shuttle bus queue to avoid the uncomfortable among your customers. Besides what I mentioned above, the car itself was in a very excellent condition. It was only 4,000 km. Mileage. Staff who took care of us were attentive and helpful.
Really great experience renting a car at Green Motion Lisbon! Got a brand new Ford Puma, yes the deposit is pricey so make sure you have the space and authorization on your credit card, but it was reimbursed immediately at pickup since we had no issues with the car. Staff was so kind and helpful Also get the toll pass with them if you're planning on driving around the country, it's really worth it
