Worst experience at a rental car agency I've had. Scam alert
Excellent service great staff
Your company did not have anyone at the airport for us to get our cars. Someone from the airport gave you a call, you said that you were closing, and that we can pick up our cars the next day. We called the next day and you would not help us in any way at all, deflecting all responsibility. Worse still, you have not refunded all of my money. I'll be getting in touch with the Portuguese complaints department to make an entry in your black book. I could not control the issues that occurred with my flight, and I was looking for your rental people before 6pm. It was only when we gave up because we could not find them that we called. In the United States, even businesses generally show compassion on their customers, even if they don't value human beings, because they value their bottom line profits. Such disregard for my family is inexcusable, not simply because I am a paying customer, but because I am a human being, and you stranded my family of 6, including four children under 8, at the airport after having traveled all night/morning. Furthermore, you lied to us when you said we could pick up the cars the next day. You should be ashamed of yourselves. As for the money, there was a fee paid when we made the reservation and paid for insurance. VIPcars, the company through whom we made the reservation, said you were keeping that money as a no show fee. With this money not having been returned, I will file a formal complaint in Portugal in addition to the one I already filed with the United States FTC. I will also contest the charge with my credit card company with full documentation of how the situation was handled.

Just had the worst experience ever with this terrible branch. My brother, sister-in-law, and four children just arrived after a very long flight from the United States. Their airline lost their car seats. Their youngest is an infant. And this Ace branch, even after promising to hold TWO cars for them, knowing they wouldn't touch down until 1600, was CLOSED at 18:00! This young family of 6 people, three children under 5, were stranded in a foreign country and no car seats to even use in an Uber because of this awful company. We only wait to see if they will refund the money THEY ALREADY TOOK. Don't listen to their "promises to do better" or their "we're so sorry" replies. They don't care about customers. Period. Let them die as a company which is what happens when you constantly fail your customers. EDIT: I've come to add more to this story. After calling the branch again this morning to see if any employees had managed to drag themselves out of bed to be at work by 11:00am, we were told that they would not even look up the reservations they were supposed to hold and deliver to us the afternoon before. We were denied service from them for a second day in a row. I can confirm with what others have said below that their staff are very arrogant. In the end, we will most likely cancel the reservation and go with a completely different company, never to use ACE again in any part of the world. A bad branch reflects on a bad company.
Reading the bad reviews, I can understand that some people might have had bad luck, because according to my experience, this company delivered on what was booked. They were clear about the holds, polite, and provided good customer service. Something worth highlighting: the deposit hold from the bank was released the next day, and the full insurance they offered wasn't as high as it usually is with other car rental companies. We only had to wait 20 minutes for the transfer, but it wasn't a problem. I would book with this company again.
Avoid - super dodgy... phone number in app and phone number on confirmation do not match. Wasted hours getting my rental car at ACE Rental Car at Lisboa Airport !!
