Is unfortunate this office is understaffed. If there are any problems it will be necessary to visit the office personally. Despite requesting an automatic transmission I was issued a manual transmission without any option to exchange. This was extremely dangerous. The reason for an automatic transmission request was because it is difficult enough to navigate Lisbon as a new person to the area without steering around double parked vehicles and worrying about lane changes on the busy highways. This rental agency is not recommended in any way.
Super bad service. The people are extremely rude and unfriendly. We wanted to return the car and they wanted even more money. The worker C. F. told us that we were not capable of understanding what we have to pay and that his colleague in Aveiro told us that- even though he was not there. But good thing he knows what they told us. Then he phoned them only to realize that they do not speak any English and told us nothing expect that everything is already paid. So good job judging us, when it was them who did not explain anything properly. We did get right but I cannot recommend them. The guy there was extremely rude, judged us directly that we were too stupid to understand what one told is in Aveiro only to realize that we were never told. He never apologized, he was just pissed. Absolutely horrible situation.
We waited for over half an hour for the shuttle just so that we could find out that we were not getting a car because a debit card didn't seem to be a good enough payment for this company. I don't understand why they couldn't take a EUR1000 deposit for all I care. The worst thing was the guy's hostile attitude. Zero compassion and zero chill. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone because of terrible customer support and "this is how we do it in Portugal" attitude.
We picked up a car in Lisbon airport for 8 days' rental and had specifically asked for satellite navigation, which was confirmed several times - and that we had paid for (@ 8.13 euros per day x 8 days). On pick up, the car did not have sat nav and there was no alternative car or a separate sat nav device available. I had to download the Waze app and use it on my mobile phone. The car had no phone holder and, incredibly, no usb plug to keep my phone charged. Not good, when you're driving the length of Portugal. We had only done about 2 km when we realised that the car had absolutely zero petrol in it. We managed to get to a petrol station just in time, with a fully red petrol gauge.
We rented a car in september. Everything was fine until we received a fine for not paying the highway in half a year later. And that's only because when they tried to deduct the amount from my card, they didn't succeed. They didn't contact me, they didn't try to solve the situation with a client first. They handed it straight over to someone who handles it for them, and the amount has increased because of that. Never again.
An all around unpleasant experience that left us feeling cheated and unsatisfied. - gave us a car with empty light on, told us to return it with 1/8 tank. Good luck getting that right and not giving them free fuel. Ended up losing money on that. What kind of rental place gives you a car and tells you literally "you need to fill this up immediately" -when declining insurance because I had my own, placed a 1100 Euro hold on my credit card. That's about 3-5x what a company normally holds. -booked us a 530pm return weeks in advance but only told us at the time of picking up that their office closes at 12 noon. We had to return the car across town at the airport instead which added hours of extra commute and detracted from our vacation. The car was new and fine, no issues. But this is built on scams. The clerk felt bad and marked all the scratches very carefully because you can tell they charge everyone for even minor imperfections but never actually fix any of them.
I had the best experience here. The people were friendly and did not try to scam us with extra insurances and so on. The price we agreed on, was the price we paid. We voluntarily asked for an additional insurance and also only had to lock down 350 EUR for the car. After 10 days and with a trip to the Algarve Coast, we brought back the car with no further issues and no unnecessary checkups. All easy and fair. Thanks !
There was no queue. The car we received ran well and was clean inside and out. The price was better than all of their competitors. The staff were exceptionally friendly - they offered tips, explained our options clearly, returned an item I'd left in the car and were always friendly and smiling. We were dropped off personally at the terminal when leaving. The best rental car experience I ever had!
