If you have an issue with faulty goods, don't expect any decent aftercare. I was a loyal customer of Leroy Merlin until today. This store operates in contravention of basic European Consumer rights! When I tried to return a faulty item, 6 months from purchase and well within the guarantee window the returns department manager completely disregarded my basic EU Consumer rights when I raised this with them. The item I tried to return was eligible for replacement, refund or repair within a reasonable time period and under EU consumer law the customer can select which option they'd prefer. Instead I was only offered one option, a repair, with a 5 week waiting period. When I challenged this I was told this wasn't Portuguese law or Leroy Merlin policy. Apparently EU laws don't apply to Portugal... this is the way things are done .... I was told I would have to wait whilst she emailed their legal department to check what the law actually was. A manager in this position should already know this! On the EU website consumer law is even freely available to find.. she wasn't interested in helping or resolving the issue. It's completely incompetent to try to fob off a customer with baseless statements, especially when they are legally and factually incorrect. Not to mention allowing other customers to interject when I raised a complaint! This should never have been allowed and managed far better. We left the store feeling very angry, targeted for being English and generally disrespected. The last time I checked, Portugal wasn't exempt from EU laws and neither are the businesses that operate within it's territory. The laws apply to any EU member state. EU Consumer rights do apply in Portugal and in Leroy Merlin! Completely abysmal service!

Worst company ever. Not just every product is bad quality and made of plastic, management is terrible. Choose local alternatives to just buy online for other companies, you will get better service and better quality products for better prices.
Incredibly disorganized place. We made a pick-up appointment, the place was empty, and they had us waiting for 40 minutes for ONE PIECE, while the staff was just chatting and saying it is not their problem - always someone to blame. Not the first time it happens.
Yesterday I returned a battery for my leaf blower, I had it for 2 months, (kept the receipt which is very unusual) & it stopped working! Returned to the department with ease, replaced with a new one very promptly. Excellent service from electrical desk through to refund at customer services.
Bad customer experience, asked to help with some foam that I didn't knew it makes us itchy and instead of telling us that, he laugh and joked around. Disgusting
It was the best place I found to buy building materials to refurbish my apartment.
Huge array of stock. Very helpful staff. Caters more for the bottom end of the market. Bought a wooden storage box only to find bottom was cardboard. I enjoyed browsing here but I probably wouldn't buy here again as most items are of the cheap and disposable variety.
