The experience wasn't the best , wanted nearly a hour to get the car so far so good , they upgraded me however when I noticed, was a higher and papers of smoking on the passenger door and a few burns on the passenger seat not what I would expect .
Problem with return: I paid 55 euro for outside of business hours (4 am), office was open but woman looks like a gremlin said that is close ...
We had to wait an hour to be picked up at the airport. The drive to the rental shop took another half an hour. When we arrived at the rental shop, we waited another 45 minutes. The rented car was not available and we were only offered a car that was cheaper, without any significant compensation. When we returned the car, they wanted to charge us for damage that we had not caused. Thank goodness we had a photo of it.
Rip off company. Extortionate cross border fee of EUR160 to travel across the border to Spain. Returned the car and they charged EUR40 onto my CC when I returned to the UK. I have done a charge back on my CC and they are saying it was for fuel. I returned the vehicle with a full tank of fuel and the guy inspected the vehicle and said everything was fine. My car rental was in February, now it's August and I'm still waiting for the toll deposit refund. I asked several times for the money, nobody reacts. (I used the same address for communication before which worked fine). Make your own thoughts about this behaviour.
The rental place was clean and the staff were kind. Although, when we did arrive they did not have the car we had booked 2 months in advance which was very disappointing. We did have to wait 1.5hrs for a vehicle, but when it did arrive they compensated us well with an upgrade to a luxury vehicle and a complimentary full tank of fuel which definitely made up for the experience. Overall, I would recommend tangerine, just maybe call ahead to ensure your vehicle is arrived.
It might look less expensive when you book, but you will pay dearly in the end. They did not have the car we booked (specifically to be able to fit 3 large suitcases and 2 small ones) when we got there, then claimed to offer an upgrade to an SUV which has half the luggage space and if we don't want it we can find another rental company (their words). We are travelling with small kids and taking a smaller capacity vehicle is not an option. Staff not trying to make a plan to assist us at all and the supervisor cannot be reached because she is off today. We can apparently come back at 9am tomorrow (because when travelling abroad one has nothing better to do than spend hours at rental desks). Eventually we had to pay more for an larger vehicle. We will be asking for a refund, but avoid Tangerine if you don't want hassles. Coincidently the same thing happened to family members renting a car in Lisbon three days ago - also Tangerine. At least that office made a plan to assist them in the end after a lengthy argument.
Would give zero stars if possible. Car wasn't available when we arrived, waited an hour and a half, no apology or acknowledgment. Pressured into getting their insurance (another 800 euros!!!). Then upon return they claimed there was damage to the car...there was absolutely no damage and they couldn't even point it out to us. They were also suppose to email us bill for tolls, no invoice sent to us but still charging our credit card, which we have to dispute. AVOID this company.
