Surprice Car Rentals - Porto in Perafita

Absolutely worst rental car company. Our flight was delayed and we repeatedly called left messages, to notify that we would arrive later. No reply. When we arrived at airport (their Shuttle does not arrive) we had to take a taxi to rental office, wait in line only to be told they had no car. It was late in the evening, we had been traveling all day, when I asked her what should we do, she said the shuttle would take us back to the airport and go wait outside. We did. They shut lights off and drove away. Leaving us stranded. Unbelievable. We have not received a refund (yet) dealing with booking.com Do not rent with this company!

We had a great rental experience with Surprice Car Rentals in Porto. All the staff were very helpful and the hire price was very affordable. Thank you Gabriel for the very easy and stress-free car return!

Excellent staff very friendly, relaxed and helpful and waited for me when plane was delayed. They have a shuttle going to their place from airport so less hassle getting to pick up. Highly recommend

Do not use this company for any circumstances they are bunch of rip offs trying to scam people nothing but scammers it was good that I had a video of the car before I rented it. Otherwise they would've been keeping my deposit for $2400. They kept accusing me of scratches that I didn't do so I showed him the video that they were stay away from this company.

Terrible experience. We ordered online so we paid in advance. When we arrived, the staff was very rude, They pressured us to get insurance through them for over 500 euro, And when we said it's too expensive, They said that any small thing that will happen to the car, they will charge us 1800 euro. We waited a long long time for the car,and got the wrong car. Only when we left they said that my wife can't also drive the car ,and Charged us for more money. We didn't film the car,which was our biggest mistake, When we returned the car, they looked at the car very quickly, and said there was damage that we made. We couldn't prove that it wasn't us. And amount for repair for something very small was really overwhelming, We honestly felt like we were being scammed. I talked to other people there, and most said they felt the same way. Would recommend you go to any other car rental.

The renting is ok , it feels like this company . .trying to squeze most of the client . Feels bully When i rented had to pay in addition baby chair 90EUR,ans other extra, which in many companies its free, when you return the car they will always find something and you will pay a lot, unproportional amount of money ,so make sure that you do make the expensive insurance ,because u will pay anyway . I rented cars many times and now also took really good care of car ,never had that kind of policy. They found tiny scratch on the wheels cover, and i had to pay 190 euros for that, even wanted to charge extra 64 service fee which would sum it to 254euro for tiny scratch , but that was negotiable . and i don't think its even mine but i didn't take pictures to find every tiny thingy in advance cos there many little things already noted . My friends ,had to pay more than 300 euro for scratches in wheel covers as well I asked them in the company ,if there is even one car that comes without paying ,so they said no, everyone had to pay something ! So they have a bully system to squeeze the maximum of the customer , so if you rent a car in this "surprise" company make sure u make the insurance because there is "surprise" of ridiculous amount that you'll need to pay for sure at the returning ..take this in account in advance

The car was great and the staff on the check-in was very friendly. However, check-out was worse - they charged a fee of 36.5EUR for driving under a new Portugal toll system which cost was 0.65EUR. My mistake you say? The problem is that this new system (EasyToll) is unavoidable - for example you drive on A17, pay on a toll booth and 1 minute after (without any opportunity to leave the road) you're passing the new system. The SurPrice problem? The EasyToll has a post-payment opportunity (I bet all the cars actually registered there and therefore could charge you the same way they're doing it with ViaVerde optional device - another toll system in Portugal) so those 36.5EUR fee is actually just a scam which gives SurPrice an easy way to charge easy money from you. As an outcome - could be a very good company if it hasn't been so greedy.

Nice people, efficient, insurance a little expensive but initial hire is cheap. The car I had was a little tatty but that helped me get over the damage anxiety I may have otherwise had. Overall it was pleasant enough.
