Perfect! We rented a car at amazing island rental and couldn't be more happy with the service. The car we got was a super nice model, drove great and economical, it also had a lot of safety features which was a nice bonus. When we arived at the airport we were picked up and driven to the rental place. We rented the car for 2 weeks and got a great price unmatched by others! At first I was sceptical and thought is was too good to be true, but I was proved wrong. For my next trip to Sao Miguel I will definitely book here again and recommend to anybody going to the island to make use of this great service.

I had a great experience with Amazing Island. We used 3 different car rental companies during our stay in the Azores and Amazing Island was the most customer friendly and helpful company. Prior to the pickup, they had an entire FAQ site of where to get picked up, how to contact them in case of delays, etc (I had trouble finding this information for some other companies so I really appreciated Amazing Island's good communication). The pickup at the airport was easy and everyone who worked there was super friendly. We ended up having to wait an hour for our rental car to arrive, but this was due to some unforeseen circumstances and the staff was extremely apologetic. I think this is expected to happen once in a while when you rent from smaller private companies and I would definitely still choose their service over the bigger companies. The car itself was clean and had no problems. They even included a QR code of recommendations and assistance information. The car return process was also super easy and we were whisked away to the airport quickly.

It was a very good experience, the car was in a good condition, we took the full insurance including the tyres and therefore we could fully relax not worrying about having any issues when returning. It was certainly worth the extra money. Rafael was super friendly and chatty. He dropped us back to our accommodation after we returned the car. There was a slight delay (30 mins) when we were picking it up but it was due to Rafael having some emergency and he informed us about it. Overall a fab experience and it's good to support a local, family business! Tha k you:)

Worst car rental experience not only in the Azores, but in my entire life. When we rented the car, we took photos of all the current scratches on the body, but we had no idea that we had to include the wheels. Joao walked around the car with us and only pointed out the body scratches without saying a word about the wheels. When we arrived to turn in the car an hour before the plane, the girl at the service found a tiny scratch on the wheel that was supposedly not there, which she estimated at 100 euros of damage. We tried to explain that we didn't have pictures of the wheels to prove that it wasn't our fault because we weren't told to take them, and that it was unfair to charge such an amount for a tiny scratch on a wheel that we didn't make (we drove extremely carefully!!). The girl behaved just awful, raised her voice, blackmailed us that she would not give us the deposit (1200 euros) and would call the police. Of course, we could not be late for the flight and went to pay 100 euros, but this situation ruined our whole vacation. I believe that this service intentionally makes money on tourists like us by extra money for insurance and if you don't take it, they find "new" scratches and take as much as possible. P.S. we had problems not only with handing over the car, but also with receiving it. Instead of getting it at 10am, they didn't give it to us until 3pm and didn't even offer compensation.

Rafael was extremely friendly and very helpful with the pickup and drop-off, and even answered questions during our trip. Unfortunately we got a parking ticket, but we were able to leave the payment with Rafael who ensured us that they'd take care of everything from there. Thanks for the great service!
