ANC Azores Holidays in Ponta Delgada

Went for a whale watching tour with ANC. Booking was easy, staff could've been friendly and more engaged. The tour however was amazing! Joao did a fantastic job scouting for the animals and taught us a lot about the species we saw (and those we didn't). We had a lot of fun riding the waves and saw two beautiful pods of common dolphins and their babies. The small boat really allowed for an personal experience and we enjoyed it!

I made the booking for a car online and then when i was there there hidden cost because i had a debit card instead of a credit cart and they charged me with extra Money. Non really nice experience because i had already paid before.

I would give this company ZERO stars if possible. I booked a quad/buggy excursion with my child for Tuesday, August 20, 2024. The buggy that my daughter and I were provided broke down in the parking lot literally as the tour left for the excursion. About 10 minutes later a single quad with an employee showed up to try to get the buggy to run. We requested a refund. Rather than refund the monies paid, they've chosen to keep the funds indicating that we were given an option to attend the replacement excursion even though we wouldn't be in country to take the excursion. They've indicated by text message that no refund would be issued. In addition, NOT ONE supervisor or management official will speak to us regarding the excursion or refund. ANC Azores Website https://www.azoresholidays.pt/ lists a directory of names of supervisors. However, as can be verified, NOT ONE email to any employee is available to the public except for an info email address. This seems likely because of the countless complaints they must receive. Despite countless attempts to resolve this issue, ANC Azores Holidays has refused to refund our excursion and to date, their managers have refused to take any calls or provide email contacts for themselves. Rather, they've chosen to hide within their website while having kiosk operators answer the phones and provide the news of their no refund policy. No management or individual email addresses are listed within their directory which is disgraceful in itself and should have been a sign of their business practices. There are MANY great tour operators on the island as we enjoyed at least one per day. ANC Azores Holidays is the biggest operator on the island with ZERO integrity. They'd rather leave a family in the street without a refund and take on whatever negative publicity they receive for the sake of euros. What manager or owner would NOT want to speak with a dissatisfied customer??? I can tell you, it would be the manager from ANC Azores Holidays. Do yourself a favor and do your homework and choose a better company to work with. My credit card company will protect me against these practices but no family should have to tolerate being robbed by a tour operator which is what ANC Azores Holidays has done. They have chosen to rob us. I hope this review is not taken down as all information posted can be easily verified with copies of text messages and photographs as they continue to hide behind a general information email address which can also easily be verified. Shame on ANC Azores holidays as well as SHAME on their managers for not taking ANY time to speak with or to help resolve this with their customers. Please note in their advertisement that the group photo is small and everyone is on their own quad. In the actual excursion you'll see nearly every quad doubled up as they were advising the tourists on the excursion date that they did not have enough quads for the day thus, forcing everyone to double up. The fact that they were over booked meant that no vehicles were available should one break down which is what happened to my child and I. This is a truly disgraceful and disgusting company managed by even more disrespectful and disgraceful management. What you see from their advertisements is NOT what you get.

They rent old scooters from Honda in a bad condition, rusty and with traits of accidents. This might work out for the city but it is definitely not a good a idea to make a longer trip with such a wreck. I found a different dealer who was cheaper (35 instead of 45 Euro per day) and offered new scooters in perfect condition.

We recently did the quad biking and the whale watching with ANC and we thoroughly enjoyed both activities. Although we didn't see whales the day we went, we say pods upon pods of dolphins that were very eager to see us. We all agreed that both activities were really enjoyable and worth the money. There were some fantastic views on our quad biking trip. Thanks :)

Not good. We rented a car from here for two days while in Ponta Delgada. We were told we had to wait for a shuttle to bring us to where the cars are kept. No problem, and understandable. We were told it'd be about 15mins because they were coming from the airport. Well, after about 45mins we asked what was going on. They said sorry, just a few more minutes. I then see who I believed to be the shuttle driver walk away with another group of people. I didn't really think too much of it though. Then after a few more minutes, another employee comes and tells us to follow her. We then proceed to be guided across the street and we wait. After a few minutes the same people I saw that had left, were coming back to pick my partner and I up. I can only think we were completely forgotten about. We then drive about 15mins into the beautiful countryside to where the vehicles are kept. After being shown our Captur, I took lots of pictures, and a few videos. Well, thank the gods I did. When we returned the car, they went over it with a fine tooth comb. There were some white flecks on the mud guard of one tire. They tried saying we drove over wet paint. I basically laughed and asked if he'd like to see the pictures I took when getting the car. As soon as he saw it, he just said, "ok". Then their wifi was down or something , so they were hand writing the deposit confirmation return. I said it was fine, as long as I could take a picture of everything, to which they agreed. We were then shuttled back into town. The deposit was returned without issue a few days later. I would never rent a vehicle from here again, nor would I ever recommend them.

We took 2 full day tours. One to Furnas and one to the east side of the island. We had Rueben as our guide to Furnas. He was friendly, knowledgeable and made our trip feel relaxing as we visited the tea plantation, Furnas, the pineapple plantation and many scenic viewpoints. He even found four leaf clovers for us! Our guide to the east side of the island was Vasco. He was also knowledgeable and navigated the island with ease as we visited gardens, waterfalls and coastal viewpoints. The company is good about adapting to the weather and making sure you still see things. Unfortunately, the fog/rain prevented us from seeing some of the views from higher points on the island but you can't control the weather. The tours are easy to book, affordable and a great way to see the island. We wanted to take the third full day tour available to the west side of the island, however it is recommended the weather is good for that tour as it's a lot of the views of the craters which you would be unable to see with bad weather.

A wonderful service! Check-in and out were fast and without any fuss, the people who run it speak excellent English and are very friendly and efficient. There are no hitches in the contract either. The car was new and we got an upgrade without any extra charge. I definitely recommend ANC Car rental services - the best we have got so far after years of renting. The Sao Migel experience is very precious for us and it was made possible by the ANC.
