Andre was wonderful. As soon as our flight landed they knew we were there and let us know where to meet them. They picked us up quickly and drove us over to get our rental car (a very short drive from the airport). There was no deposit required and we ended up upgrading our vehicle on the spot. Our vehicle was reliable, clean, great on gas, and we were so happy that had it. Drop off was simple, we even asked to keep the car a little bit later which they allowed. We would definitely recommend Arruda Rent A Car for your vehicle on the island.

They are very friendly, yet they wouldn't wait for us at night when our plane was delayed, even though we warned them beforehand. On the second day they made us change our car because of a "technical problem", then they wanted us to change twice in a week. Only after much argument did they agree to only change the car once. I wouldn't rent from them again. Note that they don't actually have offices in the airport, even though the map shows them there. They're not far away and the transport is quick.

We rented a car in Sao Miguel for four days. The whole experience from booking, questions before, getting the car and dropping it off was perfect. Communication was excellent. The car was clean and worked well. We had no issues at all and highly recommend Arruda. It was the first time I traveled to a foreign country, and I was quite nervous. From the first moment they responded quickly to our questions on WhatsApp before booking. Once there, they picked us up at the airport, being kind enough to do so ahead of schedule (we arrived earlier) and the location is 3 minutes away by car. We rented a Fabia with full insurance (no tires or rims) that does not include a deposit, which is appreciated seeing the competition. The only negative thing is that the windshield wipers rubbed a lot on the glass making an annoying sound. We would repeat.

I had rented a small category vehicle, a hatchback. I was given a Renault Clio, RS interior-exterior package. I had no problems of any kind. I want to say that the staff was very kind. The moment the plane lands, the staff sends you a message to let you know that a van will come to pick you up from outside the airport. Basically, they transport you from the airport to where they are based. One thing to appreciate is that they dont charge you a sum of money as a guarantee. I can say that this rent-a-car company makes a profit ONLY from what it should make a profit. Some companies make money by taking advantage of people who leave a guarantee, or who leave a credit card. I recommend with great confidence, especially since it cost me a very good price. The vehicle cost me 190 for 6 days, with zero risk insurance. Zero risk insurance covers almost the entire vehicle, except for the tires and rims.
