Wish all airports had a set up like this. Makes it so easy to pick up your luggage from the plane, walk out to a bus and it takes you right to the rental building. After getting your paperwork, just go pick out your car. Drop offs are easy too. No airport traffic to bother with.

Ilha Verde charged EUR277 for a part of a mirror on a Renault Clio that someone had stolen during a rental. The actual value of the mirror is around EUR30. I do not recommend Ilha Verde unless you want to be robbed.

Biggest or one of the biggest rental car companies: Plus side: + a lot of cars and stations + stations very close to the points of interest + emergency number down side: - (extremely) long queues at the airport for pick up and drop off (up to 1 h plus, no cars ready, not enough staff,...) - very worn tires (SAFTEY ISSUE) - extremely high prices in August 2022 (up to 300 EUR a day)

Ilha verde. It is clearly indicated where the return takes place (it was different at Terceira!). Unfortunately, the office had agreed with us (and many others, as it turned out) the drop off at 5:00, but the drop off office did not open until half past six. That resulted in a long line of dissatisfied customers. This must have been an error on the part of the office. Finally, it was resolved quickly.

Helaas had het kantoor met ons (en vele anderen, zo bleek) de drop off om 5:00 afgesproken, maar het drop off kantoor ging pas om half 6 open. Dat leverde een lange rij ontevreden klanten op. Dit moet een fout van het kantoor geweest zijn. Verder uiteindelijk snel afgehandeld.

I hated the service! Very time consuming. Check in took 1h30 and the employee didnt seem to know what he was doing as his colleague was always correcting him (there was only one person in the queue). Check out 45 min wait. Again with only 1 person ahead in line. Major communication failures. They said they didnt have to fill the tank (and I insisted twice asking if they were sure) and then I was forced to do it at check out. I almost missed my flight with so much incompetence. Im a big fan of rent a car when I travel but Ilha Verde NEVER AGAIN! P.S. The cars temperature light came on on the first day and I had to add coolant. They dont even see such a simple thing in the car. Huge fail!

Disseram que nao tinham de encher o deposito (e eu insisti duas vezes perguntado se tinham a certeza) e depois fui obrigada a faze-lo no check out. Quase que perdi o meu voo com tanta incompetencia. Sou grande fa de rent a car quando viajo mas Ilha Verde NUNCA MAIS! P.S. A luz da temperatura do carro acendeu logo no primeiro dia e tive de colocar liquido de refrigeracao. Nem sequer veem ia coisa tao simples N o carro. Falha enorme!
