Everything was great but I got charged 111.20 euros for this scratch on the rim. Is that normal here?

Ideal car rental company. Smart and fast self check-in via terminals (long queues at other rental companies). Handover and briefing also went very quickly. We had a defect on our vehicle and within 15 minutes we were provided with a replacement car.

Great service. So far, Guerin have done everything they can to make us happy.

I called them only one night in advance to reserve an automatic car. All the other car rental providers were not being cooperative in such short notice but Guerin came through. I had to wait for a bit for them to get the car ready for me when I arrived in the morning but I was able to get it without any issues and the price was reasonable given the last minute booking. They did not try to upsell me on any insurance and were very accommodating throughout the whole process (if anybody is curious, the reason their insurance doesn't cover the car roof or bottom is that they've had people literally jumping on their car roofs and damaging them or driving them over rocky roads damaging the undercarriage). I greatly appreciate their help and would definitely consider renting from them again.

Everything went as planned. No issues at all. Just take good care of the car you will be fine. No attempt was made to upsell or sell me insurance. Just great friendly customer service. My car was ready when I arrived. Especially liked dealing with Gabriella. She was quick and efficient and friendly.

Guerin charged me for plastic wheel covers that were obviously not properly fixed. There is a reason why you don't see rental cars with these, due to the likelihood of detachment, or being stolen. The customer loses because even though they were already warn-out, of ourse they will charge you new ones. This is a great way of adding add-on costs. If you decide to rent from Guerin, make sure you car does not have these... If they reply to your e-mails, which they didn't.

I don't understand the good ratings given to this airport. I've been here four times now for both local and international flights, and EVERY TIME the flights have been significantly delayed - Pico, Lisbon, Boston; in-season and off-season. Not just my flights but others too. The weather on my most recent trip was picture perfect both here and in the destination airport. The airport itself is small but seems adequate for the Azores . . . unless you are stranded here for 6+ hours like I've been twice . . . then it is miserable. There are two tiny (expensive!) food shops, a duty free, and some adequate space upstairs. Internet access seems adequate as well. So do not have high expectations when coming here. Maybe I'm a bit angry after the 4th flight in a row was delayed, but these are the complaints also heard by locals and tourists. Just giving fair warning to expect disappointment.

At the last minute, we stumbled upon Guerin car rental services at the airport and were pleased to find that they offered automatic cars. The best part was that we didn't need a credit card to make a deposit and could do so with a debit card instead. Overall, the service was excellent. Thank you.
