One of the best rental companies I've ever tried. You pay what you get in the contract. No hidden fees at the end. Cars are in very good conditions. The staff is really helpful and nice. Strongly suggested if you visit Sao Miguel.

We had a fantastic experience with this rental agency. The confirmation process was incredibly quick, and communication via both email and WhatsApp was flawless, with responses in under 2 minutes. The agency was very caring, and it felt great to know they were well-prepared for us. They even picked us up at our hotel and drove us to their location to collect the car, which was very convenient. When we received a small parking fine, they handled everything on our behalf, which saved us a lot of hassle. The staff, especially the young lady who picked us up, was friendly, chatty, and explained everything thoroughly. When returning the car, the staff was just as good. Even though we had a small issue with the gas tank, they assured us everything was fine. Just note that you need to return the car relatively clean and with a full tank, or they warn that they may charge you. The service was a bit pricey for October, but overall, it was definitely worth it, and we wish all rental companies were like this!

Just one word, perfect! I was searching for weeks for a reliable car rental company on Sao Miguel, but every time I thought I found one, I felt doubts because of the mixed reviews. When I found IslandRent I was curious, because I couldn't see any bad review, so I contacted them via WhatsApp. I asked a lot of questions before and through the rental and they gave me straight answers almost immediately all the time. The pick-up and drop off was exactly as we agreed. Very friendly and serious staff. I recommend them and if I will be back on the island I will rent from them again. Thank you for the opportunity! IslandRent was great! They came to get us at the airport with a van, then brought us to the rental car and the same for the end of our trip. The car was super clean and in A1 order. I drove it everyday, everywhere with zero issues. We were 3 people in this very small car, but found it super comfortable and practical to go into the cities in the small streets. It has good storage trunk. It was great to use to visit Sao Miguel for our first time. We rented 2 surf boards and a boogie board, so it was also very safe and easy to transport to the beach. Had a great experience renting from Island Rent. I made sure to book online ahead of time, and they made process easy when I got there. I was able to adjust my reservation as needed, was able to rent a nice automatic Kia Stonic that traveled well on the windy steep roads of Sao Miguel. They were able to pick me up at my hotel to get to the car, and dropped me off at my hotel after dropping the car off. They kept in touch through Whats App. I would use them again, thank you!

That was our first time of renting a car and we found this 5star company which won us over due to the good prices and reviews. We booked through WhatsApp and a Google form. The staff was very friendly and give us good advices. Also have a picked up/dropped off free policy and they were very attentive about our flights schedule, and were precisely ready to take and get us on time! You don't have to pay a deposit and the payment itself is done on place with cash or card (in our case debit card). The car we rent was Kia Picanto with 36,000+ km, it was very clean and filled with fuel. The staff help us to get in touch with some car features. The perfect car for a couple! They provide us reminders about the drop off place and nearest gas stations. Azores touch our hearts and for sure when we come back we are going to use the services of IslandRent HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
