We rented from cars from Autatlantis in our trips to Sao Jorge, Faial, Pico and Flores. One deposit for all of the rentals. Everything was smooth, cars were good, service was friendly. 5/5 recommend this company.
Stay away from this company. They will impose hidden fees and take money from your security deposit after returning a car. They don't respond to emails and pretend they don't speak English over the phone.
Highly recommend this car rental. Manager Paolina did everything so fast, in 5 min I got my new Toyota Aygo for 3 days. Prices are better than the other rentals and quality of cars and service was excellent.
Please do not rent from this company, and if you do - make sure to record any scratch on the car, including the rims and the wheels. Even though I got a car with full insurance, they analyzed every single scratch on the car, falsely accusing me of causing damage to one of the rims. Fortunately, the video evidence clearly showed that the scratch was pre-existing.
Very bad. Scammers. They charged us 48,77EUR for cleaning the car after delivering it back. The car was used only on conventional roads of the island, so I guess it's normal that after 4 day of use it should be cleaned, as any other rental car company does between clients, ot at least serious rental car companies. They said that the car was driven through recently asphalted road and the dirt stains needed special cleaning. It's false, since the dirt was easily removed with water, I checked this specifically. Also, there is no point on the contract mentioning this "rather" expensive cleaning. If we have known this we could have clean the car ourselves beforehand in a gas station or so for less than 5EUR and without "special cleaning". Very bad experience. The car itself was not so bad, but the gear shift was quite loose and was not given clean to us on the inside and the outside when we first picked it up.
Car was given full of scratches. No windshield wiper liquid. Overall usable condition. Double check the policy, you are liable to 100EUR damage, even with their super-plus-all-in-peace-of-mind-whatever version. My bad I did not filmed the car all over when retrieving it. I am used to have 0 excess liability, was on holidays, after 14h journey, woken up at 3.30 AM, and did not care. As I said, my bad. Returning it, they find a scratch that was not there before (I had no way to double check it, again, my bad) on the plastic cover in the front of the car. Charged 133EUR, meaning the 100EUR of the deposit. While this is fully within the policy I signed, a scratch on the plastic cover (amongst one million other scratches on the car), charged for a total of 133EUR (are they really substituting the plastic cover? Would love to see that. And even if they do, I guess the usability of the car would improve dramatically) is just a joke. Sounds like a nice way to make extra money. Which is fine, their business, their rules, my signature. My right to make clear that, in my opinion, still is a kind of perfectly legal scam. I just wonder what's to gain in losing a customer and selling the reputation out for 100EUR. To sum up: be careful and aware of this, maybe spend a bit of time more checking other companies. I'll surely do next time.
My recent car rental with this company has been the worst I've ever encountered. Despite investing time in thorough research and selecting their top-tier vehicle, the reality was shockingly different. The car was not only not what was pictured but was also in poor condition. The windshield wipers didn't work and it felt unsafe to drive. To add insult to injury, they attempted to slap me with a EUR1800 charge for damage that already existed. The entire ordeal was a blatant attempt at exploiting tourists. Inside the car was no better - stained seats, an unpleasant odor, and litter everywhere. This falls short of the standard I anticipated, given their reputation. This experience was beyond frustrating and cast a shadow over my trip. I strongly urge you to spare yourself the agony and choose a different rental company for a more reliable and enjoyable experience.
I highly recommend this company. They were super friendly, flexible, the price was very good, the car was in excellent condition and they returned our deposit right after they checked the car. I didn't have to wait days/weeks for that. Keep up the good work
