BL Heritage Tours - Douro Valley Wine Tours in Porto

This trip was amazing. Bruno was an excellent guide. We visited some small family owned wineries which were each special in their own way. The boat ride was a treat, so idyllic. Highly recommend this trip for a memorable experience.

Amazing trip to Douro Valley from the very beginning to the end! Carlos was so much fun and so knowledgeable about wines, Douro Valley and all things Portugal. The vineyards we visited were gorgeous and the wines were superb. Lunch was delicious! Loved the people we did the tour with Carlos did a great job engaging all of us. Tour on the river was a perfect ending to this tour. Definitely a must do!

Wow! What an incredible experience from the very beginning to the very end. First off I don't know S*** about wine...if you don't know, it's okay! You will learn and it's pretty fascinating. First when I booked the tour I got an email about all the information I would need for the adventure. A couple days prior I got another email talking about the weather conditions and what we will be doing based on that. The night before Jose reached out to confirm the time, location, and even sent coffee shops open before our tour. Jose is the definition of wine enthusiast! A very knowledgeable man, who likes to have a good time. First off, this place may be one of the most BEAUTIFUL places I've ever seen! Our boat tour was AWESOME! Our pirates were HILARIOUS and absolute dolls. Everyone I encountered were absolutely fantastic and wanted us to just enjoy ourselves and their country. 10/10 would recommend!

We had an AMAZING day tour of the Douro Valley with BL Heritage Tours on July 20. Our tour guide and driver Jose was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the drive time fly by with interesting conversation and information. We had 2 visits to small vineyards with personalized tours and very generous tastings with the winemaker of each vineyard, with tapas at the first and a delicious homemade multicourse lunch at the second. We rounded out the afternoon with a private boat tour on the Douro River with more local snacks and portotonicos. Interspersed with our drives were stops at incredibly beautiful vistas for photos. Everyone we interacted with on our day tour was knowledgeable, friendly, and happy to chat and answer questions, no matter how esoteric. And it was all in English, which was much appreciated since my Portuguese is very poor. We cannot recommend this tour enough - it was worth every penny, and tour company thought of everything. When researching Douro Valley wine tours all the options looked very similar on the surface, which is why I am especially glad we were recommended this tour group by a friend. From the access to beautiful local family wineries not accessible to the public, to the friendliness of the team and tasty wine selections. I know several friends that also previously took this tour and across the board it was a highlight of our Portugal trips. I cannot say enough good things about Bl Heritage Tours.

This tour was my favorite day during my time in Porto. The pickup and drop off location were so convenient and easy and the ride was extremely comfortable with breathtaking scenery along the way. Everyone we countered was kind and welcoming from the representatives at each winery, to Bruno and Jo on the boat, to Rita our driver for the day. Rita was knowledgeable and a great host- she even stopped out of the way for a group member needing a charger! Paying more for the more intimate, smaller group experience is the way to go. We felt more like family or friends than tourists. Rita left us with thoughtful treats along the way which made us all feel so special. The food was plenty (and delicious!) and they did not hold back on the wine! I would recommend this tour to anyone who is looking for a little escape from the city. Thank you to everyone who had a part in making our day in the Douro magical!

The Douro Valley tour was fabulous! Leonardo was especially fantastic! We visited 2 wonderful wineries, indulged in a Portuguese homecooked meal, and enjoyed a Douro River experience on an electric boat with delicious snacks. Highly recommend this for any one spending time in Porto/northern Portugal.

This tour was easily the highlight of our first trip to Portugal! The Douro Valley is breathtaking and it was such a fabulous day learning about the region and wine making process, visiting family-owned wineries, a peaceful boat ride down the river, and eating delicious food and drinking superb wine throughout the day. Jose is an engaging, informative, and wonderful host with a ton of great dad jokes to keep the laughter flowing! The tour was well-organized, perfectly curated, intimate, and about as far removed as you can get from the large commercialized tours that tend to exploit a region rather than support it. It was such a fantastic day that I debated booking the same tour again on another day the following week! Don't hesitate, book this tour!
