I rented an R1300GS for a self-guided 3-day Douro Valley tour. Initially, I didn't have high expectations for the accommodations due to the low price. I figured they might be subpar "4-star in name only" types, but I wasn't too concerned--I just wanted to ride. The first night was at a beautiful winery, complete with dinner. We enjoyed a 3-course meal and two bottles of their wine, all included in the package. The wine was excellent--I even bought a bottle to take home. The second night exceeded expectations--a stay at a luxurious manor house with a gourmet dinner and a port wine tasting, where the chef introduced each course. That dinner was the best we had during our two weeks in Portugal. I'm hesitant to share the names of the hotels because they were hidden gems I wouldn't have discovered on my own. Northroad really delivered on this. Considering the hotels' regular prices, booking them separately along with a GS rental from elsewhere would have cost me around 200 euros more than what Northroad charged for the entire tour. The route was expertly planned and pre-programmed into a Zumo GPS, guiding us through incredible roads I never would have found on my own. There was virtually no highway riding, except for a short stretch near Porto on the return leg. We also received a hardcopy of the route with descriptions--definitely take time to review it. If you deviate from the route, the GPS might take you on unintended roads, which we experienced a few times due to construction or snack stops. The R1300GS was in pristine condition, equipped with a full set of Givi luggage. I brought my own phone mount, and the staff kindly helped me install it on the bike. We encountered some rain, so I returned the bike covered in mud, but the staff didn't mind at all--no cleaning fees or hassle.
I recently completed a self-guided tour in Portugal and had an outstanding experience with Northroad for my bike rental. From the start, the staff was incredibly professional and attentive, customizing routes to match my preferences perfectly. The motorbike I received was in excellent condition, equipped with fresh tires and a reliable navigation system, which made my journey smooth and enjoyable. Their deep knowledge of the local roads and attractions truly enhanced my adventure, showcasing the best of what Portugal has to offer. I highly recommend Northroad for anyone looking to explore Portugal on two wheels. Their exceptional service and attention to detail made my trip unforgettable!
Hired a Royal Enfield interceptor for 8 days touring Portugal. Good bike, well maintained and the service from booking to the return was very professional. Highly recommended.
We rented a bike from Northroad in august and very happy with everything, good service and professional. All of their recommendations for routes are all spot on! It made our holiday in Porto so much more fun and have freedom to explore little villages and beautiful scenery around Porto. We definitely will be back and rent bike from them again, highly recommended!
Would give 6 stars if I could. Reasonable prices and excellent, friendly service. I rented for only one day for a ride to Douro Valley. The bike was in excellent condition and ran great. My rented GPS unfortunately would not charge, but they were extremely responsive when I called and refunded me the cost. Highly recommended. (Also a cute little dog in the shop) :-)
I rented the Honda Rebel 500. (2024) Besides the bike being amazing and the sharp price. The team was nothing less then amazing! Very friendly and super helpfull. If you are ever in or near Porto and you wanne rent a bike... Then this is the perfect place (also in the weekend). Thanks for helping me enjoy my journey!
Really friendly people, very helpful. The bikes are well maintained and modern. Rented a Himalayan for a few days, came with the side- & topcases for my luggage, at a very reasonable price. Highly recommended!
The best rental I ever had. Got a CB500x, the bike was in really good condition, 3.5 l/100km. Engine was so smooth and quiet. The staff were pretty friendly and helpful. On the other hand, they reply email quickly and can speak English fluently, so no worry for non-Portuguese speaker. I really appreciated that this store gave me a nice experience to explore Portugal.
