Horrible service. I rented a car, which broke down the minute I reached my driveway. Ignition switch died, so the car wouldn't start. First I had to wait for a mechanic for an hour. The only thing he could do is start the car by putting it in gear and going downhill. Europcar would not offer a replacement car unless I bring the car back to then. That followed with a very stressful 1 hour ride through traffic, if the ignition would've died at any point, I would have ended up strangled in the middle of the road. On arrival, I tried to explain the situation to Europcar staff. I had to leave the car woth ignition switched on in the middle of the driveway, which was neither conveneient, nor safe. However, a vompany representative who introduced herself as Ms. Eliana Lopez has chosen to process a very substantial customer queue before addressing my issue. It looked as if it is a matter of principle, not common sense. Mr. Andre Gigante, Eliana's manager, was not present on site, so I did not have anyone more senior to address the issue to, according to her. Overall, I've spent over 3 hours of driving back and forth,l on getting a working car from Europcar, not accounting for waiting time, courtesy of Ms. Lopez.
The staff was nice but I did't get the car I ordered (I wanted a gas manual and they had only automatic e-car for me). Later I found out that I can't charge my e-car in any ways because the apps don't seem to be working with non portugal numbers or bank accounts. So it was pretty stressy for me. Fortunately, the change of the car went smooth and there were no problems anymore.
The transaction went relatively quickly, the staff is friendly. Unfortunately, we received a larger car than ordered (Toyota RAV4 Hybrid instead of Citroen C3). This seems like an upgrade for many, but we wanted a smaller car for the sometimes narrow streets of Portugal's villages. Therefore one star deduction. However, the car we received was almost new (7000km), without major damage and very clean. I would recommend this station to others.
Easy and straight forward. Quick Pick up and fast delivery. We did the reservation the day before and were satisfied how effektive it went. The delivery was quick but we could also see that we arrived early on a morning flight, before others.
Very nice stuff and very welcoming! I received all the information I needed and the employee answered all my questions, gave me advice what fabulous places to go and see in Lisbon and beaches in Arrabida area, very kind and professional. Rent car price very good. All my appreciation!
Dear Europcar, I would like to provide some feedback on my recent experience with your rental car service. I reserved a Volkswagen ID3, but upon receiving the keys, I was provided with a Citroen C4 instead. While this was not a major issue as the two cars are similar in class, it was an unexpected surprise and I would have appreciated being notified beforehand. This caused me some inconvenience. Upon receiving the vehicle, I realized that there was a mistake and I waited approximately 30 minutes while it was being prepared as it had been previously washed. This delay caused the start of my trip to be delayed by more than 10 minutes and exceeded the quoted time. Additionally, there was no communication from your end, which caused further inconvenience. The battery capacity of the vehicle was also lower than expected and required me to charge it more frequently during the trip. The actual driving range of the vehicle turned out to be significantly lower than advertised. Thank you for understanding and cooperating. I look forward to continuing our business relationship in the future and hope to hear any updates on plans to improve the service. Best regards, Vitalii
Took 18m2 automatic van and was frightening at first but at the end great experience and even easy to drive. Great rental experience! Pedro and the staff we're welcoming, supportive in perfect English, and the fleet has well maintained vans and clean, while they explain all questions (most importantly what is the height of the van).
Maybe price is a little bit higher than at rentalcars com, but it really worth it! Very polite staff. We ordered Fiat 500, but they give us Ford Focus and it was really brand new car with 11 km on the odometer. Highly recommend!
