This was the last time I rented the car from Sixt! 3 hours waiting time until I picked up the car - huge line for the papers, it took 15-20 mins per person, in the car park I was told to wait another 40 mins until the car is washed. During the return the employee wanted me to take responsibility of all damages of the car even though they were already existing! She did not want to listen to me even though I declined the damages. I have never experienced such a bad service before!
I have to give 5 start's for the first time, no one forced me to have insurance had to ask for it, the car was new no problem's the staff was 5 start's very easy, the transfer was perfect on time. Good work. Best regards Marco Goncalves
Had a very nice experience. The staff were quick both during pick-up and return. The car was practically new. No issues on return.
They are thieves They charged me EUR115 euro per day for insurance. If you go to their website full coverage is $51.99 usd I will never ever rent from them again. I plan to file complaints where ever i can. Complete scum bags
Sixth is operating a scam in Portugal. I use them in the US, no problem. I pre paid for the car on Priceline, They then charged me extra for all these additional charges, They also claim I damaged the rim, which you can see there isn't damage. I also didn't cause the alleged damage. They are charging $212 Euros
We rented a car here for 2 weeks at the end of August. We waited the shuttle for 10 mins at the airport which is okay and what we expected. Once there, no line, we could start the process to pick up the car immediately, the staff was very friendly and gave good explanations. We chose lucky dip and we got a VW T cross, which was almost new, with 3000 km. A bit disappointed with the car as it was not so well optioned, for example no rear camera /sensor to park, which could be useful to avoid scratching the car. Otherwise, when we gave back the car, the staff was very quick to check the car, we didn't have to queue, no issues even if we gave back the car a little bit dirty because we went to the beach, they did not charge us anything. And the shuttle to go back to the airport was immediately available.
Do not rent here. I have spent well over two hours in the branch waiting for child car seats and a sufficiently sized car to arrive. This is an online booking entered in advance. The car offered to me was the smallest in the category and no satisfactory alternatives were available. This is quite an awful rental experience for me. There are quite a few other customers having various issues with their rentals and spending the time with me here :(
One of the only rental shops in Portugal with a website that works correctly! I tried to reserve through Enterprise rental but their website wouldn't allow me to choose any of the available pick-up times, so gave up and rented from Sixt. The staff are super friendly x energetic, and helpful for explaining about driving on the expressway in Portugal. The car was given with explanation on setting gps to English and fuel tank. Because the roads are narrow, I accidentally scratched the side mirror but returning the car was a breeze. They assured me and made me feel relaxed about the scratch I had created. Accessing the rental shop is a little difficult if you walk from the nearest subway station so make sure to take the bus there instead. I'll definitely be renting from them again soon. One thing which I wanted to know was the expressway toll charges. Not sure how much I was charged each time I crossed, but other than that, the staff emailed me my invoice. Really helpful especially for foreigners booking a car from their hoke country.
