Very slow and poor service. We had booked and paid for a car with manual gear. Due to bad weather our plane was redirected to Tenerife, and when we arrived the day after, the car we booked was not available. We were offered another car with automatic gears for twice the price of the prepaid car. Waiting time is unsatisfactory as well. We have waited for 1 1/2 hours and still no car. We recommend that you rent another place.
I recently rented a car from OK Mobility Funchal through JetCar, attracted by their competitive pricing. I opted for the Platinum insurance package with JetCar, believing it would cover any excess or deposit. However, upon arrival, I was required to place a EUR1,100 deposit for the car and an additional EUR250 for fuel. On top of that, they attempted to sell me extra insurance, which cost more than the weekly rental itself. Naturally, I declined, but they continued to insist, warning me about potential high costs in case of an accident. Thankfully, I made a video while inspecting the car, during which the young employee (who, it's worth noting, was quite helpful and professional) mentioned that any damages smaller than 3 cm would not be considered, as I had pointed out all the minor dings on the car. Fortunately, his statement was captured in the video. Upon returning the car a week later, the inspection was done by the manager or agency head, who found a small dent under 3 cm and began to discuss potential charges. I immediately mentioned the video, which clearly stated that damages under 3 cm were not an issue. Her demeanor shifted, and she eventually let it go--perhaps speaking Portuguese helped resolve the situation smoothly. In the end, everything worked out, but I was left with a mixed feeling about the experience. It genuinely seemed like their priority was extracting more money from customers, which, after reading other reviews, appears to be a recurring theme. The reserved deposit on my credit card was refunded without any issues, but it wasn't immediate; the amount arrived 24 hours later.
Got the cleanest car that I ever had from a rental car firm. Even the wipers left no traces. And staff was really nice and patient even though I had some trouble with my credit card. Would rent from them again next time on Madeira!
I recently rented a car from Ok Mobility, and it turned out to be one of the worst rental experiences I've ever had. Be warned--this company will try to take every cent they can from you! When I returned the car, they claimed there was a "Moderate" scratch underneath the front bumper. The kicker? This so-called damage wasn't even visible at first glance! The scratch was on the underside of the car, in a place no one would notice unless they were specifically hunting for ways to scam more money out of you. Yet they charged me a ridiculous 300 EUR + 60 EUR tax, all for something that could barely be called damage. What really bothers me is how they completely exaggerated the issue to justify the insane fees. This wasn't damage that affected the look or performance of the car in any way. It was just a small, almost invisible scratch in a completely hidden spot! To top it off, they classified it as "Moderate" damage instead of "Minor," which feels like a blatant attempt to inflate the cost. I honestly feel robbed by this company. They clearly don't care about fairness or transparency, and it's obvious that their goal is to squeeze as much money out of customers as possible. If you're considering renting a car from Ok Mobility, DON'T DO IT! Save yourself the headache and go with a company that values their customers and doesn't engage in such shady business practices. I will never rent from them again, and I highly suggest you avoid them at all costs unless you want to end up like me--feeling scammed and cheated.
The price is fair. Pick-up and drop off location is not at the airport. Shuttle to the rental was fine. Shuttle back was slow as they only have 2-3 staff working. It made for a very tight window to get to my flight. The one car they gave me had no tread left on the front tires. I asked for a tread measurement and to change to another car before leaving the lot. They told me no, take it or leave it. There were at least 10-15 other cars they could have offered me instead with way better tread. Not a good customer service move. I didn't have any issues with the car during my time. It would have been nice to offer me another vehicle though, considering there were other cars on the lot.
Great service and we got a brand new Nissan Juke, which was perfect for the hills of Madeira. Only thing is be mindful of the nearest gas station first opens at 07.00 am. We almost missed the airport transfer because we wanted to fill the tank next to the car rental when returning the car. But the transfer shuttle waited for us and drop off was easy. Many thanks! We will rent from you again.
We rented a car from OK Mobility recently for a period of 5 days. The info given about airport pick-up was excellent and we were met in good time by a cheery driver. We waited a little while at the hire place because it was busy but all the staff were helpful & efficient. Carolina helped us with our car hire & explained everything very clearly. As usual there was the request for extra insurance but there wasn't any hassle about not taking it out. Carolina showed us around the car, pointing out small issues to us & showing us the workings of the car. The car was perfect for our needs & everything went well. Drop off was easy too, with more helpful & cheery staff. One small thing that would help & would add extra would be a map to help us as we set off from the depot.
Great experience, we were issued a brand new car. Petra was professional and checked in our car and confirmed everything was in good order and our deposits would be refunded. Very easy experience! Would rent there again.
