Rent Car Magic Islands - Loja Ponta Delgada in Valados

I rented a car two weeks ago, and everything went smoothly. The service was excellent, with a convenient shuttle that picks you up from parking lot 5 and takes you to the rental office (just a 3-minute drive). You simply need to call them once you've arrived at the airport. The car provided was in perfect condition and very clean. The staff were friendly, polite, and helpful throughout the process. I booked through www.discovercars.com, which offered the best price I could find. The refund process was also efficient, taking just six days. Highly recommended!

Please be aware of the following: DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! I am writing this review to warn you about my experience with Rent Car Magic Islands. We booked a van one month in advance for our trip from London to the Azores. Just 20 minutes before our departure, we received a call from Rent Car Magic Islands informing us that the previous client had damaged the van, and they no longer had a van available for us. When we arrived in the Azores, we went to their office, and they could only offer us two cars, but we didn't have two drivers. They did not even attempt to apologize for the situation or assist us in finding a van from another company. Fortunately, we had booked with Discovercars and were able to get a refund from them. We were also lucky to find Atlantic Secrets car rental, which provided us with a car even though it was already 8 PM, and they accepted the car back at 7:30 PM. The Azores are amazing, and you will encounter many good and helpful people and rental companies. If you happen to know the name of the driver who brought us from the airport to Rent Car Magic Islands, please consider searching for another rental company. PS: I don't remember the name of the Driver who bring us from the airport to the Rent Car Magic Icelan, But you are too good for that compay please search for another rental company

Our morning airport pick up was over an hour late. Uber was not working well, so started walking to their shop, which is about an hour walk from airport. They ignored our phone calls from 3 different phones. Staff seemed very young, and probably enjoyed the prior night too much to be able to function in the morning. When returning the car, they found a finger-nail sized dent in the rear plastic bumper cover. They charged over 700 Euros. Not sure if it was there before. On a budget compact like this, it was probably worth $20 to fix, if at all necessary. Again, ignored all phone calls and e-mails. They also charged 60 Euros for a half tank of gas. Probably 3x mark up. The only bad experience we had on Azores. Otherwise, people were nice and friendly. This place just rips off Tourists.

We had a really positive, seamless experience with this car hire company. The car we had was of a high standard and the staff were really friendly & knowledgeable, helped us with a few hints and tips of where to visit whilst on the island! Free shuttle service to and from the airport so you don't need to worry about driving a hire car straight out of the airport.

The shuttle is in the airport parking lot, where the car rental return is. The shuttle is fast, about 10 minutes. The car was ready in the garage when we showed up. Staff is very kind and helpful. They even let us store our luggage for a few hours when we dropped the car off for return. We had no issues with the car, however, after reading another persons review, we washed the car beforehand to avoid any additional charges.

Everything was ok. Price good. Service fast. Some my request for car provided for me. Please be carefull with rims because full insurance does not cover damages of rims. You can ask for a car with simpliest rims :) to manage that stupid rule

I rented a car for 3 days in April 2024. We were nervous about the bad reviews but our experience was pleasant. The pick up and drop off process was very quick, there were lots of scratches on the car at pick-up but we took detailed photos and they didn't try to charge us for damages at drop off. I only give 4 stars because when I booked the car online, I was under the impression the EUR1500 deposit would just be "blocked" on my credit card until drop off. It is actually a charge that takes up to 2 weeks to be refunded, and I was refunded 10 days later. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would rent a car with this company again. Thank you!

I was really scared when I saw the reviews on here a day before returning the car, but it actually went quite well. I rented a car on Sao Miguel island, the rental was marked as Mercedes Class A or similar but in the end I got a Skoda Rapid. (Not saying it's a bad car, but would be better to show the cars that are in the same class not to be disappointed) I made sure to take pictures and videos as suggested by the employees, but never ended up needing them as the return process went very smoothly. The security deposit was refunded to me immediately and arrived on my bank account 2 days after. Overall the experience was very positive, the car was good but in the future it would be good to have a list of the cars in your fleet to understand what car the customer can get! P.S: I always advise you to go through Discovercars or Rentalcars since they have excellent insurance and very good customer support, better be safe than sorry!
