AGS RENT A CAR in Vathy

I had a very positive experience with these people. The were very flexible each time I came back and asked to keep the car for an additional day three times and allowed me to take the car from the time I rented it for 48 hours from that time and extend by 24 hours each day in the same way. I.e. I didn't have to bring it back by 9 pm or 9 am. They were fine with 1 pm and on my last day there, they let me keep it till AFTER THREE PM and then drove me to the port to catch my ferry without ever charging me more, while saving me a 20 Euro taxi fare to the port. Total price for 5 days was 125. 25 a day, with full insurance! This was OUTSTANDING value and I really loved their relaxed and personal approach. They were really helpful with all my questions and the extra time extension AND ride to the ferry on the day I left cemented my very positive experience. I hope to return to Ithaca and if I do I will definitely rent a car from AGS again. Eukharisto polu! Efcharisto poly guys!

Awful service. Wanted to rent a 4x4 and they said i had to come back in the morning at 9AM. They were late and then proceeded to tell me i couldn't rent a car because i am 21 and i had to be 23. Just awful

Made reservation by call in advantace for the cheapest car. When i arrived for the car ...they told me the car i ordered have some issues ....so they gave me a bigger car for the same price (as the smaller car). This is the only company that allowed me to legaly take a trip from ITHAKI to KEFALONIA and back. No other company i asked did not provide this service. I was also glad i could have the car for 24h and pay for a day not have car for 6h and pay as for 24h. Not every company does that.

We rented a Fiat Punto that showed serious problems when we drove uphills. Even in break 1 the car stuttered and gave up. The gearbox made serious protests and fault lights lightened up. Later that day a man from AGS came and after a one km drive on a flat road he concluded that there was nothing wrong with the Punto. However we became another car the next day: a Daihatsu Sirion (Automate). In two days we drove 108 km with the Daihatsu Sirion and paid EUR 25,82 to fill up the tank to max. We drove the Punto only a half day with a lot of trouble on slopes and not the half of mileage that we did with the Daihatsu. Regardless that AGS charges us for almost the same amount of gasoline by the Punto in a halfday as used by the Sirion in two days. A request for a coulance solution was refused. All and all a very disappointing experience with AGS.

We booked a car over the phone. After 40 minutes, when we arrived to pick it up, we were informed that they had already rented it to someone else, they didn't apologize and didn't even help us to find another one. Surely can't be trusted, you may end up with no car at all.

Our experience was very mixed. We rented a small Daihatsu Kuore for manual driving at 22 Euro per day (5 days). We had asked for an automatic car but the answer was: NO, we haven't got any. After one day, we gave back the manual car because it was not convenient for us. We said that we prefer an automatic car. We were told that allegedly we had told that we don't want an automatic car but a manual one. We were treated rudely. We were very surprised by this behaviour. Finally AGS proposed to give us an automatic car, Daihatsu Sirion at 38 Euro per day. We agreed. We think that we were overcharged. After having paid, AGS kept our copy of the contract and didn't give us any receipt of the payment. We found AGS very unprofessional although the car itself was fine.
